    • If it was sold and fullfilled by Amazon would have atleast considered comparing it. Not in this case, for peace sake.

Just a friendly reminder that MyDeal recently had a big cyber attack that saw a lot of their customer details leaked. MyDeal claim it wasn’t anything like payment details but I would still recommend being cautious.
    Just a friendly PSA.

  • anyone know if the back lumbar support is adjustable?

    • The lower back lumbar support is adjustable but for me personally it doesn’t seem to make much difference. That’s the only disappointing part of the chair IMO, it doesn’t suit my lower back curve so bad to resort to extra cushion.

  • Bought it about a year ago and it hurt my leg to the point it became a recurring problem.

    I'm 170 cm.

Sold it to a lady who is much shorter than me and she's very happy with it. I really don't know why I had problem with this chair.

    • Is it not hight adjustable?

      • Yes you can raise and lower it no problem. Arm rests can be raised and lowered as well

  • Is the headrest detachable?

    • +1

      Yeh you can remove it

  • +2

Thanks finally I can get tid of my beach chair

  • Having trouble using shopback rewards, using the mobile app went into shopback got to checkout but then get the "must be using mycash app" how do I get shopback or cash rewards to open the mycash app itself? Whenever I click the link on CR/SB it just sends me automatically to their mycash site

  • Got the mesh one with SHOPAPP code for $179. Thanks OP

  • how would this compare to the Ikea Markus chair?

    • +1

Other than the $100 price difference, from what I can see, the Markus does not have adjustable height armrests, sliding seat, adjustable/removeable headrest, no option for mesh seat. I have not sat on either of them, but have taken a punt on the blue mesh version.

  • Thanks for the insight…went for the mesh one for extra comfort and the generous discount…!! looking forward to it.

  • cost me more than a chair as end up buy a table too!!! Table $239+Del

Look for AFRDI Blue Tick rating (AS/NZS 4438). Lack of this means it's a purely 'cosmetic' office chair, fine if that's all you're expecting though of course, but don't be fooled by looks alone.

    • It's an official standard for ergonomics? Wish steelcase and herman millers weren't so expensive.

      • Yep! Can find a decent range with it, even in the likes of Officeworks, from about $250 - $350

        • Thought officeworks chairs are more expensive from what I've seen people post in the past. Do you find there is a significant ergonomic benefit with it? I just know my current chair is really uncomfortable.

          • @JL1: Used to burn through the basic generic low grade Officeworks office chairs pretty regularly, and they were never great for any kind of extended use, so I dug into the topic a bit deeper and came across this rating (standard) and gave it a shot. Still got the same chair and it saw me through all the full time WFH through lockdowns and continues to serve me well with the slightly majority of WFH now! No dramas at all with a full day of use, remains comfortable throughout. The only maintenance it's needed is an annual check and tighten of any hex bolts that might have loosened a bit. Very pleased, I think I paid about $340 for mine back then.

  • Thank op got a blue one cheers

  • Thanks OP. Bought one.

  • $40 postage to WA!

Also looks like padded option is OOS

  • Thanks OP. Bought a grey mesh.

  • I have owned one for more than 2 years. Two things I don't like: 1/ the mesh seat becomes very uncomfortable if you sit on it for longer than 1/2 an hour. I've had to put a seat cushion on it to make it comfortable. 2/ the head rest doesn't have height adjustment. Next time I'll spend more to get a better seat.

    • My headrest does have height adjustment
There’s a slot if you look behind it, that allows you to pull the headrest up/down. Probably about ~6cm or so in adjustment

      • +1

The headrest tilts only and does not move up and down.

        • +1

According to this review, the headrest "is adjustable in height and also tilts."

          • @wombat1955: I own this chair and the head rest tilts! It doesn't lift up. It's not supportive and sits at shoulder height and I'm under 6ft tall. Have a look at photo number 10 on the website and it shows how it tilts. I wouldn't buy it but go right ahead you might love it.

            • @Modman: I own this chair too.
You can see the vertical slot in photo 10, that’s how you adjust the height

              • @dorikin: In the photo, it looks like there are some indentations in the slot where the headrest clicks into or is it a smooth adjustment?

                • @wombat1955: Yes that’s exactly right
There’s 5 indentations available to set the desired height

            • @Modman: Received mine today and can confirm that my headrest moves up and down 5 notches. I'm 6ft and at the highest position, it cradles my neck perfectly. The thing about height though is that not everyone has the same length torso, so my legs may be longer than yours.

    • I thought the mesh seat would be more comfortable? What does it make you feel uncomfortable? Just asking becoz I've just ordered a mesh seat lol

      • Bought one too to try out before committing to probably a steelcase!

I got mesh too, my first one. Do people feel fabric bottoms are more comfortable generally? I think it depends on the chair though, I have a fabric one at home and it hurts my ass sitting for long periods.

      • +1

The mesh has hard raised edges. The mesh is an open diamond weave with raised plastic lines over it which are not woven into the mesh - They look like they are glued on. It's not comfortable even if wearing jeans.

        • Ah should I be regretting my buy? Discomfort from my current padded chair is why I seeked out an alternative. Mesh seems popular though?

          • +1

@JL1: I don't think so. It's not going to suit everyone for sure, but there seems to be significantly more positive comments than negative ones.

            • @wombat1955: Thanks! It seems good value for office style chair with headrest and adjustments. See how it goes when it comes!

              • +1

@JL1: Me too. I ordered one to replace my gaming chair, which is still in great condition and considerably more expensive, but I want to try something else and this seems like a good entry to test the waters for a mesh chair.

                • @wombat1955: The mesh is more comfortable than I thought and seems quite strong and supportive on the seat area for now! Headrest is not very good though and too low.

                  • @JL1: Yeah, I think it is more of a neck rest than a head rest. I have it at the highest position and it fits neatly into the back of my neck.

                    • @wombat1955: I haven't found how to adjust the height yet but seems like it is possible from previous comments? Even then I don't think it would be high enough as a working head rest during normal sitting position!

Chair also does not go very low but enough for my table!

Edit: my headrest already set to highest position, definitely a neck rest. I saw headrests on other high end chairs from steelcase and they look too low and some cannot even tilt, so forces neck forward possibly.

  • For $179 the blue mesh one was worth a shot.

I bought the Ergoduke 1200 earlier when it was $119 shipped, that chair was too small for me especially with the headrest installed (it supported my back/base of neck more than any attempt to support my head) but the mesh bottom was way more comfortable than my IKEA Jarvfjallet with a fabric base.

Hopefully this one fits me a bit better, its spec sheet does portray it as being a bigger chair than the other model. The mesh on the IKEA chair is like indestructible though, my cat used it as a scratcher for years and it's still fine, I don't think this one will last too long if she gives it the same treatment.

  • +1

Just bought one to replace the crap one for my son. He plays game too much.

  • $44 delivery to WA … damn you western state

  • +1

$54 shipping to WA. Oh well…

  • Blue one gone but got grey one, thanks OP.

  • Looks decent, anyone know how they compare to the Ergohuman chairs

    • That one looks a lot better constructed and adjustable but 4 times the price?

      • you can get them for like 450$ from previous deals, and according to the taobao.com page, those are selling for 300$ in china.

        • Same one from China or a copy? I guess fairer comparison at $450

    • 749 vs 189?

  • Looks like the padded one is out of stock. Can anyone recommend an alternative below $300 price range? Need something that survives 75kg @ 60 hours per week lol

  • Was waiting for a chair to pop up on OzBargain. Couldn't get myself pull the trigger on any youtube video link

  • Is this better to an ikea version?

  • Thanks OP and sorry to my wallet. Hope the mesh will be comfortable with summer coming!

  • sitting on my new blue chair now :D

better quality than i was expecting, and heavier than i thought as well

    looks great

    • Good to hear. That was a quick turnaround. Did you receive any tracking info? My order status is still on "Pending Dispatch".

      • +1

Mine also arrived this morning (Adelaide), but it's still in the box. Was pending dispatch until yesterday, then I had an email saying it was shipped and was currently in Melbourne airport. Very impressed with the shipping time. Now to assemble and test it.

        • +1

Mine came this morning as well and I’m from Melbourne.

      • +1

        Same here. Pending dispatch

    • +2

Yup, just got mine as well. The padded seat is perfect for people who like to sit on their legs, very comfy (much better than mesh).

Headrest (tilt and height adjustable) can be removed as well as too arm rests. Armrests are height adjustable and have soft rubber on top (pretty comfy).

All in all, very impressed with $180 purchase.

      • I wish the armrests could be moved forward/backwards. I find my elbows barely able to sit on the back end of the arm rests when I'm on my computer.

    • I ordered black…got blue instead haha.

  • Got mine today. Just found out that you can adjust the height of the lumbar support.

    • The lumbar support is almost ineffective for me. Would be nice if you could increase the pressure, but otherwise I'm fairly impressed overall for the price.

  • Got mine today and liking it so far. Glad I went with the padded seat as there is no issues sitting cross legged. Only complaint is I wish the seat could go a bit higher as coming from the Markus that had more room to adjust the height.

  • Anyone elses hasn't even dispatched yet?

    • Me

    • Me too

  • Received mine yesterday, which was very surprising because it was Melb Cup public holiday.

First impressions (and these are my personal opinions) are:
    - colour is completely off from what it's depicted in the photos / videos, which looks darker, but the actual product is more of a greyish teal colour.
    - headrest is completely useless. it's more of a neck rest when you are leaning back into the seat.
    - the biggest annoyance is the arm rests - these are way too far forward and should be positioned about 5-10cm further back.

Other than that, for the price, it's definitely an improvement over my old chair I was using for COVID WFH (Onex GX1 "Gaming" chair).

    • Can you switch the arm rests around so the left is on the right side and the right is on the left side?

      • +3

quite possibly. I was going to give it a try but haven't yet had the chance. will revert back with my findings once I attempt.

EDIT: OK so I attempted to change the arm rests over from left to right… this caused the arm rests to hit into the back of the chair so I put them back. I did realise that I could unscrew the padded part from the actual arm of the arm rests, so I did and I reversed them so that the longer side is now facing backward and the shorter side is facing forwards. Now my elbows rest against the arm rests much more comfortably!

IMG mock of the arm rest difference: https://imgur.com/a/HetXP2H (excuse the poor attempt at img manipulation)
flipping the arm rest pad from front to back/back to front made a huge difference for me. Feel free to give it a try yourselves to see if it works in your favour.

    • Agree with the head rest! Far too low and I am not even that tall. I don't use arm rest much but get what you mean about them being too forward!

      • holy crap I just realised that not only can the headrest be swivelled, but it is also height adjustable. it's finally become a bit more useful, but still needs to be a tad bit higher.

        • Haha yeah I am not too tall and mine is at the highest already when I checked to adjust it. Arm rest definitely a bit short and too forward!

But when lying back to relax it can sort of rest the head! Can't complain much at this price.

          • @JL1: Damn thankfully I’m only 175cm tall and can just manage to get the headrest to support under the base of my skull, but requires me to fully lean back into it.

            • @itsmehuey: I am only a little taller than you with a long torso but yeah need to fully lean back into it in a non working position, haha. But it's pretty comfortable just lying nack on it. Making me reconsider impulse buying a steelcase or not!

      • I put my order in at 1:15pm, at that time the site displayed there were 8 blue chairs left.

  • Just put mine together. Seems pretty comfortable to me and built well. There's 2 levers on the underside - one for height/tilt adjustment and another that doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone know what it's for?

    • maybe it's a backup incase you break the first one

    • +1

It allows the seat to slide forward and backward.

      • Cool, thank you.

  • Just got a message saying my order could not be fulfilled. Not happy at all!

  • Just got mine. Im 6 foot, 90kg. It is a bit "smaller" than i thought, but this could be my expectation.

It is reasonably comfortable (mesh one) but will edit my comment later once i've sat on it for a few hours

  • received cancellation email.

    • What a shame

    • At what time did you place the order? Mine hasn’t even get cancelled.
