20CHARLIE

Came across this code '"20CHARLIE" to get $20 off Foodollars for Master Lanzhou Chinatown for any Foodollars purchase of $50 and above!' Not sure when you have to enter the code by, but once you save it to your 'promo code bank' it doesn't expire till 25/1/23.

The buy $20 get $20 is a better deal but we've bought and used that one, might use this offer too.

Need to put code first before buying the food dollar (under promotion).

    • Yeah, instructions in the video. Not sure how to slow it down though, can you slow down videos on insta even?

  • Only for that store?

  • It seems for all Master Lanzhou stores. No need to buy now. It will expire on 25/01/2023

  • My partner tried this and ended up with buy $30 get $5, so not worth it.

The promo code took $20 off the $50 tier. We were expecting pay $30 get $55.

I think they messed up the promotion.

    • Nah they didn't mess it up, their promo codes for food dollars are dodgy and seem to always remove $ from the end credit amount as well.
E.g had a code for $10 off food dollars - I chose deal of buying $20 food dollars and get bonus $20, so I thought I would pay $10 for a total of $40 credit after the promo code. In the end it was me paying $10 to get $30 credit.

No, they are just dodgy. The original price was pay $50 get $5, now with this promo is pay $30 get $5.

The spend part reduce $20 while the get part doesn’t change.

      • The get part also reduced by the same amount.

Original deal is spend $50 to get $50 food credit + $5 bonus food credit = $55 food credit

After applying code: spend $30 to get $30 food credit + $5 bonus food credit =$35 food credit

It's a measly discount in this case.
        5/55 = 9.1% saving
        5/35 = 14.3% saving

I still have $400 food dollars when I purchased $500 get $500 free a loooong time ago. Would buy again

    • You bought all those food dollars for Master Lanzhou ?
Were you that impressed by their food ?

      • +1

        Yes.

When I bought the credit, it was about $14 per bowl of noodles.

        It’s about $17 now.

I suppose the litmus test is, would I buy the noodles at full price ($14)? yes I would.

So at $7 it was a no brainer for me. At $8.50, it’s still bargain.

So the offer of $500, get bonus $500 was attractive to me. So far used over $600 of my $1k.

Spicy beef triangular noodle soup for me please.

    • Wild! Was it for a party? That's the only time I can commit $$$

      • Party of 4, who eat there once in a while.

I did order 12 takeaway for a family lunch once.

Doncaster / VIC is my preferred place to eat due to meat skewers as well.

        • Never seen the Meat skewers at Chadstone, South Yarra and Glen.

  • Hm.

I went there two weeks ago as I was wanting hand pulled noodles. I can’t say I was too impressed. I didn’t think it was anything special. Yes, I realise there were a lot of Asian students there and they probably know what’s good from their point of view but I just wasn’t feeling it.

Here in Melbourne Hi Chong Qing is just miles better and it’s not a semi-corporate place.

  • Yeah I agree, it's nothing special. Pretty average broth and noodles. They had 1 for 1 deals previously which was when I purchased some. Still have lots of credits left as I haven't felt the need to go back again.
