PRESAGE: The Presage range combines a Japanese aesthetic sense with traditional craftsmanship and Seiko’s mechanical watchmaking skills in an original collection that offers Japanese beauty, quality and long-lasting performance.

SHARP EDGE SERIES: The SEIKO Presage Sharp Edged Series is a design series that revealed a fresh and powerful expression of Japanese artistry. This series captured the simplicity and refinement of traditional Japanese aesthetics in its delicately textured dial and gave it a modern edge with its sharp and angular case construction.

G.M.T RANGE: The watches in this collection are powered by the 8-beat per second GMT calibre 6R64. The GMT hand on each timepiece is in a different colour to stand out clearly from each dial. The GMT hand can also be used as a dual time indicator.

SUMIIRO- This timepiece features a textured dial the colour of India ink with silver toned, LumiBrite luminescent hands and markers. The dial of this watch features the three traditional hands as well as the GMT hand that is clearly distinguishable with its red highlights. The watch features a date wheel as well as a power reserve indicator. The dial of the watch is protected by sapphire crystal glass and housed in a stainless-steel case measuring 42.2mm and has an exhibition case back. The look of the watch is finished off with a stainless-steel band.

Please refer to description on sellers website and compare with another Seiko.

Lots to this, however the one that really sets the tiers are the movements inside the watch
This uses a 6r movement which is more accurate then the 4r series.
The higher the tier, the more accurate the watch the pricier it is.
Secondly complications add price- for example this has a GMT hand which is a complication, it has a date complication and a power reserve complication.
Anything outside the hour minute and second is deemed as a complication.
So in this instance it has 3 complications on a mechanical watch which adds value.
Lastly and this is purely subjective is the face dial and materials used. This uses a simple geometric pattern probably from a full sheet of metal but there are watches which have factory set diamonds, some which are made of gold/platinum etc which increase cost dramatically. this one is a simple stainless steel, so is quite cheap to construct.

Reasons for the price on this watch from highest to lowest
      1) Movement (6r)
      2) Complications
      3) Design

Better than any reply I would of made :)

  • I used to own this and can recommend it. It's very weighty and sizeable (42mm is quite large for some wrists). GMT function looks great too (not that I've done much travelling lately to warrant using the GMT function).
