216

Saw on TV and here's an article

Co-starring Sarah Roberts and comedy group sensation, Sooshi Mango, the third instalment of The Wog Boy franchise will see Steve and his wog boys, once again, show the world that “where there’s a wog, there’s always a way!”

Enjoy!

    Who keeps funding these movies?

  • +3

This got savaged in the reviews. 1 star, from memory
    Here: https://www.smh.com.au/culture/movies/wog-boys-battle-irrele…

    • +2

Consistent with the rest of the Wog series then.

    • +1

I disagree with the review, the movie was very funny. Was much better than the second film

      • +2

Well given how 'woke' the current generation is, I doubt they could make head or tail of this. Perhaps the review reflects that point of view?
Imagine if they saw the old British comedy "It Aint Half Hot Mum" about India or "Are You Being Served" about erm John Inman, They would need lots of time in their special safe places after that and it was just regular show on telly.
        Times have changed

        • +1

Benny Hill? Paul Hogan Show? Dave Allen?

  • +22

How is this a bargain? Do we do a post for every show released on a streaming service and clog the feed up?

    • +6

People might start posting the ads on youtube cause they are free to watch.

You can block them from appearing in both new deals and the front page, but this one got through. The debate was had, and for what ever reason, they were allowed to be posted. Gaming service gets game is allowed too. Still waiting for FTA gets TV show.

      • +1

How does one block this tripe from new deals and front page?

        • +3

You click on Streaming Service Addition, or any other tag you don't want to see, then it will take you to a page. There are three dots … at the top of the page, click on that, and block them on new and/or front page. In this case, the link is: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/streaming-service-addition

    • I'd have given them a + if it read "Wog Boys Forever Not Added to Paramount+"

      • I'd have given them a + if it read "Wog Boys Forever Not Added to Paramount+"

        Why don't you post

"Wog Boys Forever Not Added to Netflix"

        then?

        • I couldn't deal with JVbcomplaining about that.

    • You must be new here

      Surprising.

    Thanks for the warning

    • +13

I wish I had a Paramount+ subscription so I could cancel it before the 21st.

  • +1

Why would I watch this when Superwog is far superior?

    • The same reason you'd watch Superwog in 30 years when whatever else better comes along, nostalgia.

    • +1

That's going to age even worse

    • +1

Superwog? The show where they smell each others farts in a car? Top shelf champagne comedy there… /s

  • +4

Would be genuinely interested in how many people actually choose to watch this

  • +3

    Where is the bargain.
For this kind of posts, I'd suggest Reddit - there are good channels over there for sharing this kind of info.

This does not represent a deal or bargain in any sense and, in fact, is utterly useless information to most.
These sort of posts are not what the site is for and should be blocked.

  • +4

I kind of feel sorry for Nick Gianolpolous.
The whole Wog Boy series was pretty much his only idea and now that its time has passed he's got nothing. He's not he worst when it comes to not being funny though. For that you need to look at Mary Coustas as Effie. A strange case of somebody who really thinks they are funny, but never ever has been.
I am surprised this got funding

    • +1

His networth is $6M. Don't feel too bad for him.

      • +1

He should just retire and take up surfing or fishing or whatever wogs do

      • He has ridden a successful idea for its time, down to 1 star reviews.
Time for a new idea (or to retire)

      • $6m. Sounds like everybody who bought a house in Sydney or Melbourne in the 80s.

        • +1

          Hehe not for long apparently

    • For that you need to look at Mary Coustas as Effie.

Have you been to any of her show to see her other characters?

      • Well no, because in all her time on TV she never raised even a mild chortle, so I never went to any of her shows.

        • +2

In theatre, she did shows with many other of characters. I went to one and it was quite good.
Started and ended with Effie, but that was like 10% of the show.

I really dislike that word. It is on par with the N word but for Italian/Greek heritage.

    • +3

      I really dislike that word.

      Which word?

      • Boy. It assumes their gender. Wogs with mustaches are not necessarily male.

        • Oh… I thought they meant the word Paramount,

  • +4

Saw this in cinema last week, while not perfect, it was very funny

  • +4

why is this a bargain? this is advertising

  • -3

never seen it - i enjoyed the 1st movie but apparently this movie was abysmally bad like my big fat Greek wedding 2 bad

Kind of felt like Nick and Vince needed a quick easy pay day pay and this cow has a bit of milk left

i wonder how long until the PC lunatic crowd start complaining the world 'wog' is racist

    • +1

      Too late, it is discouraged.

  • +1

    Not a deal.

  • This movie sounds like a whole lot of cringe to me. I don't see why they felt the need to try and revive 'The Wog Boy' released in 2000

Nick Giannopoulos has been laying low according to his IMDB profile, probably needed some extra money since he wrote this one himself this time (As opposed to the last one which was him and Chris Anastassiades)

    • I don't see why they felt the need to try and revive 'The Wog Boy' released in 2000

He should have stopped when he was ahead with Kings of Mykonos…

      • Hahaha that's funny I didn't even know that was essentially Wog Boy 2, with an IMDB rating of 4.5/10
The fact that he decided to make a 3rd is hilarious to me.

        • I haven't seen the 3rd, but the first two were pretty good.

          • @jv: Wog Boys Forever would essentially be the third, I wasn't even aware of The Kings of Mykonos until you mentioned it, which turns out to be pretty much the Wog Boys 2.

            The Wog Boy
The Kings of Mykonos (Wog Boys 2)
            Wog Boys Forever

The fact that the budget for The Kings of Mykonos (Wog Boys 2) was 5-8 million (Google says 5 & 8 million so I can only assume it's somewhere between 5-8 million) and grossed 5 million in the box office leaves me wondering why they would bother making a third.

            • @Empharand:

the budget for The Kings of Mykonos (Wog Boys 2) was 5-8 million

Most of that was the drinks bill at the bars on Mykonos…

I watched it yesterday at the cinemas. I personally thought it was pretty funny.

Much better than the second one but basically the same as the first one lol but I haven't laughed that much from a new release movie for a while.

I understand it may not be everyone's taste. But for me, I enjoyed it as it was relatable (from an ethnic perspective).

I will watch it again once it's out online :)
