                This could have been made in 2018 to utilise current tech.
                Current tech is not the reason this game was made, it was made for easy money.

                  @Spendmore: On a new engine for the game, they created new models, textures, and animations. A new script with new voice acting with levels all being redesigned. All they are reusing is the premise of the original story line, so what exactly about that screams easy money?

                        @Bugsie: Kind of diverging here but the short of it is no it wasn't made to use new tech or it would have been out years ago and yes it would be cheaper to remake as they have the story, character and set design, coding data from previous engine etc.

                            @Sxio: My point was in response to the question why do they keep doing remakes, it's further up on this thread ∆∆.
                            Personally I'd rather new games it would have been way better to continue the story.
                            I guess it's fine for those who never played it.
                            All the companies are doing it now, Nintendo is one of the worst just porting from one platform to the other.
                            I'd prefer new innovation to a rehash of old.

                      @Spendmore: I already said it has a new script and the character designs have been redone, it is based off the original stuff true, but they had to do the creation work again. It is ridiculous that you have picked this particular game as the one to call 'easy money' as the vast majority of the work has to be done again for this game.

                      This remaster is like a game being based off existing intellectual properties such as books, comics, or movies, but the IP for this game is it's own franchise. Sequels using the same engine and assets should be considered 'easy money', like the impressive looking God of War Ragnarok, way before this game.

                      Or perhaps you consider The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy easy money because it is based off existing designs and story from the books.

                          @Spendmore: It isn't a binary situation, full cost vs easy money. Less than developing everything from the start, more than making a sequel reusing a multitude of assets, significantly more than a remaster using the same engine and upscaled textures.

    Almost an instabuy at this price but it's still far from release. I love this game and I'm stoked they're remaking it.

    There was a small period there were EA were releasing these amazing single player games. This was one of the best.

      Maybe wait for this new remake then if you are a stickler for graphics/gameplay.

      But the original was one of only a few games to scare/creep me out. It was really atmospheric with the HUD, story, weapons. It was an awesome experience.

      I only just finished Dead Space 3 a few months back, and found it enjoyable. Not as great as the 2 previous, as this one had ramped up the action, to the point where you can't run more than 30metres before something comes out of the ground/snow/air vent.

    I finished 2 and 3 but never played the first one to the end. I did started playing it for a couple hours but not sure why I never actually spent more time on it. 2nd one was scary as shit and the last stage. Crazy..3rd was more of an Action game and wasn't as scary as the first 2.

    I replayed through both Dead Space and RE4 before the announcements. The original Dead Space holds up extremely well and one of my fav games of all time. I do understand remaking RE4 which has terrible controls, graphics look very aged and there is a certain part of the game which is kinda trash. Still RE4 is an amazing game tho.

    I feel if you don't want to spend much money just play through dead space now
