Magix seems to purchase software from other companies (like Sound Forge and Vegas from Sony, after Sony lost interest in them) and puts some effort into improving it.

The discount varies amongst products but averages 50% off. The only product I have spent considerable time with is Sound Forge, which is now a good alternative to Adobe Audition: https://www.magix.com/au/music/sound-forge/sound-forge-pro/?…
The basic version is currently $200, the Pro version with additional bundled software like SpectraLayers is $336.

  Does anything else matter when DaVinci Resolve is free?

    I've wanted to do some basic video editing a few times and each time I install that it overwhelms me.

      Consider investing time into DaVinci Resolve, instead of dollars into other (inferior) products. You may find better return on investment.

        I will but I'm not gonna like it! I just need to paste some stuff together, do some PiP, some graphics/text over the top and do some of the stuff put into slo mo….DaVinci seems like overkill.
