Is that opinion or research? I found a few options Megabuy @ $2099, HN@ $2398 and Mwave @ $2699…so not RRP new.

he's thinking about the ones that come with a 10300/11400 cpu.

On a system that's already struggling with thermals with the lower tier CPU, this thing would fry with a i9, or throttle down to same performance as cheaper version.

    Go with this instead: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/719654

    • 1k was a steal for that one, maybe Black Friday

    • yeah but wouldn't the i9 version come with more heat sink? Otherwise putting in an i9 would be a futile waste as you say.

      • Nope, there's only so much space in a laptop chassis.

    • I agree with that, my kid has the 3060 one with I5 and the fan works hard when he is gaming. Can imagine the heat this would pump out.

I had terrible experience with this type of gaming laptop it makes loud noises like an airplane and burns like a fire.

Asus G15 Zephyrs is $2097 from Officeworks. DDR5 Ram. 3060. 294 nit screen.

  • May as well grab a new Lenovo for that price.

  • Coincidentally, I just gave my nitro i7 a good clean.

Temps were very high. 80s on the GPU and CPU. Google does say that it's normal.

The fans can get pretty loud.

I'm still happy. Great performance for what I paid. Driving both a 1080 and 1440 monitor. $1100.
