Samsung T7 Portable SSD Drive 500GB Grey $79 + Delivery ($0 in-Store/ C&C/ to Metro) @ Officeworks

780

Was looking for a cheap but good ssd for storing personal photos/videos and came across this one from Officeworks. I believe it’s cheapest available online from anywhere. 500gb is enough for me. Officeworks delivery scheduled for tomorrow at no extra cost.

$25.95 delivery So no deal for me

    • But only because you live so far outside of their delivery zones?

      • 80 km's

    • Pretty ridiculous. I just returned a mini computer (1KG and much larger than this SSD) to Hong Kong for $35, yet Officeworks can only manage $26 to send an SSD out locally.

I just bought one of these this morning, much better value per TB. Only 2 left though: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08F27QGHX/ref=ppx_yo_d…

      • also comes with the same read/write speeds as the Samsung T7 (1050/1000MB/s), and a longer 5-year manufacturer warranty (T7 only has 3 years).
      • looks like it has micro usb type b (usb 3.0) which I've found to be a fragile connector on portable drives in the past. T7 is usb C, much nicer.

What was the price? Showing $197 now.

      • "One of these"? there are three size options available, and what price was it?

        • Western Digital My Passport SSD, 1TB, External Portable Drive, Gray, Up to 1050 MB/s - WDBAGF0010BGY-WESN

          It was $125.

What's so special about Samsung T7 vs Lacie, Sandisk, WD? I saw a lot of posts about Samsung but not so much about the other brands?

Samsung is like Eneloop of SSD

  • That really cheap for 500GB. I got mine of Seagate SSD 500GB in August for $99 from JB Hifi

  • These are great for tesla usb drives for the sentry/dashcam.

    • How's "tesla usb drive" related to OzBargain? You should go for BYD usb drive ;)

      • Huh? It's for the drive that you put in the glovebox to record using the inbuilt dashcam on a tesla. BYD uses a microsd card.

        • He's hinting that OzBargainers should be driving a BYD, not a Tesla.

          • @AncientWisdom: Luckily we own both! At the moment we are currently suffering through some broken chinglish interfaces in the BYD but it is a great car. However other people cant even get their BYDs cause of some stupid middle seat tether problem.

So……I bought the s7 with fingerprint sensor today at office works, price matched the Samsung education site. Price on Samsung was 179.25 I paid 170.xx after the price match +5% discount

    • How did Officeworks price match the education website? Wouldn't they have needed a login?

      • Yeah, I am a student 😃
