PLACE1000 should be the code
The email had PLACE1000 and PLACIE1000, so I thought first one must be a typo. However, I just tried to use the codes but none of them worked. Did PLACE1000 work for you? If not, I will remove the post as the codes doesn't seem to work.

Perhaps it could be for new users. I am already on TheFork
The email contained a link to T&Cs which brings up The Fork blog page that has conflicting dates on it: "Until 13 November" and "between 10 October - 31 December", so definitely some mixed messages for this promo.
However, the start of the T&Cs says "for any first-time booking" and further down "only applicable via the App" - so perhaps it does work for new-comers.
