Whats the difference?You don't have to pay the upgrade fee if you're playing on PS5. I think it's about $15.

@scuderiarmani: If I had to take a guess, probably the graphic options and haptics. Higher FPS and resolution targets on PS5 and lower for PS4/Pro.

I wonder whether there's a big difference between PS4 and PS5 versions. There's very little with COD MW2 but this is first party game so could be different situation.
I preordered PS4 for day 1 version on Amazon (shipped this morning). Plan was to compare and upgrade to PS5 if there's a big difference. Price will be $10 I think.
Now, this means PS4 Day 1 (Amazon) = $78 while PS4 Standard (eBay BigW) = $73.47. Is the preorder items from Day 1 worth $4.53?
It mostly depends on your TV set. If you have 4K, high frame rate or VRR on your TV the PS5 version has graphics modes to take advantage of those features.
If you’re gaming on a 60Hz 1080p display there are some differences apparently but nothing massive.
You'll notice the difference surely on a standard 4k tv, even at 60hz. Especially if it has HDR mode on (which really, i can't believe how bad games looked without HDR on)
I play from a 60Hz 1080p monitor, so would be fine with PS4 then. But the Day 1 vs standard contents, is it worth the extra $?
You will be stuck with 30fps if you opt for the PS4 copy, which is a huge eyesore and the amount of detail lost during movement and camera pans alone is enough to justify going for the PS5 version and getting a nice locked 60fps experience.
@XVX: I believe the PS4 version has an unlocked frame rate mode which should run at 60fps in back compat on a PS5.
But in general I would go the PS5 version unless you’ll really miss the $20.
@get-innocuous: Upon further research, it seems that you are correct. It is quite a strange naming convention they have used for the official Santa Monica Studios image they released which detailed all the different modes with the 120hz mode being called 'Unlocked 60fps' and the PS4 Pro 60hz mode being called 'Unlocked 30fps'.
@XVX: I guess that's the "minimum target frame rate" since advertising it as 60fops when it's more like 40 on PS4 and 120fps when it's more like 80 on the PS5 would be pretty misleading.
If you want to sell once you've completed it the ps5 version will get a much higher resale price too.
This makes sense to go with PS5 version.
Or just play the game and return to Big W within 90 days lol
Will Big W actually accept returns on a game within 90 days? First time I have ever heard that they do this.
Amazon blew out my delivery date anyway, if you have an Amazon order, you might want to check it, mine jumped to Nov 14th and wasn't shipped (or any where near shipping, as it let me cancel straight away).
