Also noticed WarioWare Get It Together! is $34.99

    • Is it worth the price?

      • +1

I didn't much care for it

        • +5

You need to get it together

      • Yes

      • +2

juts my POV, i would get Rabbids: Party of Legends instead.

    • Good value for this price.

    • Thanks!

  • +2

Now I will get my wallet out to spend my money thanks Amazon

Thought about Mario Golf but a lot of the reviews are terrible, think I'll just stick with the N64 version, which is on Switch Online anyway

    • Significant updates fixed most of the complaints/issues. It's kinda annoying how review sites deal with updates.
Nintendolife increased their score on this, but only as a small side review, they never amended the main review.

Its' a much better game now, not one of the nintendo greats, but still good.

      • +2

As a way to disincentivise buggy rushed cashgrabs, it works as nintended

      • Nintendo's own fault for pushing out half a game.

    • I thought it was a great game.

  • +2

Awesome, almost went to the bother of dealing with catch…. but the laziness paid off - 1 click Amazon dealio!

  • I purchased when it was at $44.99 literally yesterday. Feelsbad…

    • -1

Hop onto Amazon live chat and they’ll be willing to refund the difference back

      • Not necessarily…

        • +1

          Return it?

          • +1

@Dtezy: Yep, sometimes they refuse and say you can buy again and return the first one, so stupid. 🤷🏻‍♂️

            • @John Kimble: Are they really? Or are they trolling someone who has buyers regret

              • @CptnObvious: Not sure what you mean?

It's happened to me a couple of times 🤷🏻‍♂️

        • +2

Depends on your luck on who’s the other end of the convo tbh, I’ve had good runs so far. I just usually ask for a promotional credit to be applied on my next order

          • +37

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks for the feedback everyone. I called Amazon, and what a bloody rollercoaster - Here's a recap of events:
            1. They refuse to refund the difference.
            2. I ask why they are happy for me to return at no extra cost and repurchase, but not refund the difference.
            3. After hold, the worker said they could give me $5 promo credit.
            4. I questioned that it would be less than me just returning it and repurchasing.
            5. 24 minutes in, after hold, they come back and say they refunded me the $44.99 and that I could keep the item.
            6. I responded that I didn't want the $44.99, just the $9 difference.
            7. After hold, they come back and say that they've applied $9 promo credit to my account AND the $44.99.
            8. I carefully re-explain another two times that I only wanted the $9 difference and don't want to come off like a scammer.
            9. The worker says that they understand and asks if there's anything else they can do to help.
            10. I, confused, concede…

            • +1

@Wontons: Just take your credit and run

              • +1

@Jay Nomad: I just hope my account isn't flagged as a scammer or something and they refuse refunds in future…

            • +10

@Wontons: Bless your heart. They're giving you a free game and there you were trying to undo it for honesty's sake.

            • @Wontons: Haha… that is exactly what Amazon customer support representatives do. They struggle to understand what exactly you are trying to tell them and after a few times back and forth the original message has turned into something completely different in the end. Just like the lion Alex passed a message to the monkeys in the Madagascar movie LOL.

            • +1

@Wontons: Wow , someone on OZ bargain not screwing over their mother for five cents ! I'm impressed.

              • @Murkymerv: I appreciate the sentiment, but I ended up taking the money anyway! (Do I keep or my throw away my OzBargain license?)
I can confirm that the refund and promo credit has come through. Alongside the Prezzee deal, I ended up accidentally making $19 + a getting a free game of RRP $79.95. Oops..

    • refun?

    • I got Dread at that price too in October. Never thought it'd ever go as low as $34.99. It's pretty much unheard of for 1st party titles not even 2 years from release.

Be sure to claim the Gold points when you get it. Mine did'nt work, which seemed a bit dodgy and the game was'nt sealed.

      • I've not had this issue before when buying from Amazon. It only works within 1 year of release? Maybe you just missed it?

Got Metroid, just in time for a flight to Amsterdam on Saturday. Thanks OP!

    • +2

getting high and playing metroid, nice.

  • +1

Great game… bought on launch and no brainer at this price :)

  • +2

Idk why but it feels good to swipe that order. Thanks OP

  • +1

just copped a copy of Metroid. Thanks OP

  • I always get concerned reading Amazon reviews of scratches on the switch game cartridges. No shrink wrap is common from Amazon but one must question why.

    • +7

Never had a scratch but my understanding is that Nintendo Switch games aren't factory sealed

      • looks over at shelf with sealed games

        hmmm.

I recieved Metroid unsealed from Amazon and the Gold points reward didn't work, suggesting it was already claimed.

  • +2

Yas! Have been on the hunt for Metroid for a while now, too stingy to buy for full price. Thanks OP!

  • Be aware of the delivery date, however: 6 December

    • ? Shows same day delivery for me.

Got further $7 off Mario Golf for using an Amazon Hub for delivery. So $28.99.

The $7 off is a banner at the top of the Amazon home page (for me at least) and is for using the Hub for the first time….although I'm sure I have used a Hub in the past. Also $20 minimum spend is required to use the code. I have prime too so not sure if that plays into it.

Do others see that on their home page. Code was 7OFFPICKUP after selecting a Hub during checkout.

    • Can confirm the code worked. Got Metroid Dread for $28.99 for pickup from Amazon Hub using the code, also a Prime member. Never used hub before.

    • Yeah used the code and it worked, thanks, got Metroid. Didn’t see banner but opted for pick-up at hub, then used code.

    • +1

Code didn't work for me. "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."
I have Prime and never used Hub before. All I did was change the delivery location and then tried applying the code - no dice. Am I missing something?

      • +1

Same as above, not working damn.

        • Must be select accounts only then, whadda shame… Does anyone know what the cheapest digi price has been for it so far? I was originally planning to go digi and wait for a sale but no chance am I dropping $80.

      • It wasn't working for me on mobile but worked perfectly as soon as I tried on my laptop. Are you trying on mobile?

    • +1

Ordered. This worked for me too. Thanks OP

    • Thanks!

  • +1

Metroid is amazing. Definitely pick it up for the price

  • Buying again to seek out a sealed copy

    • Is it even possible to find sealed copies these days? I've bought several switch games from different places and none of them was sealed.

      • Depends on the game but yeah, I've got a dozen or so sealed copies. EB unseals them to display case on shelf but if you pre-order you can get sealed ones. Amazon has mostly always shipped sealed to me. Most of my games I buy used though cause idc if they've been played by someone else if the case isn't utterly destroyed

      • +1

First party Nintendo switch games in Australia don't come sealed

        • Mario Golf arrived yesterday and it came sealed.

          • +1

@Noddy Doldrums: First party Nintendo switch games in Australia don't come sealed on release.
            Subsequent reprints may be sealed.

  • +1

Damn, great deal! Much nicer to buy from Amazon than catch. Thanks op

  • can't recommend Mario Golf. absolutely soulless game part of the continuing trend of phoned-in third party Nintendo titles

    • +1

Mainly the sports titles. I definitely felt like it was missing something, same with Mario Tennis and even Strikers lacks a certain something. Hell even Switch Sports is bare-bones compared to Wii Sports Resort.

STILL, all of the above are really fun with a few friends and work well online too, just don't bother trying to find people playing Mario Tennis online because they don't exist now.

  • Appears Metroid is now Ozbargained

    • +1

Seems to be back in stock :)

      • +1

champion - got it, thank you

  • +5

Priced matched with JB chat which brought Mario Golf to $35, and used the JB Perks $10 coupon for existing members to bring it to $25!

    • Pro move!

    • You mean $25.99 not $25

      • No, they round down to whole numbers for some reason

    • You were lucky they didnt add postage. They usually do. Was gonna do the same but ended up using a $10 promo i had with amazon.

      • Weird, have successfully matched without postage several times now, I just pick it up in my local store!

        • Every time I've price matched Amazon in store they always check that it's first sold by amazon and second under the free postage. If so they add postage cost to price match. Was same last time I did it via chat. Guess it depends who you speak to.

  • +1

The best Mario Golf is on the good ol' Game Boy.

  • Mario Golf Super Rush is a lot of fun, has a vast number of courses and challenges and has plenty of online competition. $35 is a great deal.

  • This link takes me to Metroid Dread priced on Amazon at $44.99.
    Did I miss it? 😭
Ah yes. That would explain the [Expired] tag at the top of the page 🤪

  • So Amazon sent me an empty postage package. Not even a packing slip inside.
