Terms & Conditions: Special Offers June 2012

All offers start at 12:00AM June 1, 2012 and end at 11:59PM June 30, 2012.

Domains: Popular Domains for a special price

The following domain offers apply to the first year of registration on new Instant Domain packages. No sign up fees. Second year and subsequent years regular prices apply.

    1. .info domain: First year of registration is $ 0.99, then $ 9.99/year. Limit 5 per customer.
    2. .com domain: First year of registration is $ 0.99, then $ 10.99/year. Offer valid ONLY for new contracts on the following packages: Instant Domain, Instant Mail, Starter Hosting, and Starter Hosting including Starter eShop. Limit one $ 0.99 .com domain per contract. Customers are limited to five $ 0.99.com contracts.
    3. .net domain: First year of registration is $ 8.99, then $ 9.99/year. Limit 5 per customer.

so looks like .com is only for contracts with other services?

    • You get "Instant Domain" service for free and domain registration for $0.99

    • ok thanks, wasn't sure. i was just doing due diligence to make sure i wasn't getting locked into some contract

i can buy a domain for $0.99 and then transfer at the end of the year?

      • When you order, you'll see it more clearly.

They didn't seem to limite # of .info's to 5 (as per above), but - so far - a "gateway timeout" seems to have precluded my seeing an order through to Finished.

        No domains got registered!

        • HAPPY update:

I got a reply to my URGENT eMail about the glitch, in which they list all my domaine,
& tell me how to access them, etc.

I came almost -immediately- (in less than 5 ninutes, anyway); that's pretty IMRESSIVE.

'Seems all is well (to use a line from
          "3 Idiots")

  • i registered 99 cents, no problems

    • Yes, I like that they "eat" the ICANN fees… :-)

  • Not that great a deal — they do things like this all the time.

I host with them because what I need isn't business critical, but I highly recommend against using them for hosting.. there's much better and the service is utter crap :/

  • Their domain name management interface isn't as user-friendly as some other providers, but I have been switching all of my domains to them anyway, simply because they are cheaper than most others to renew. Not to mention their great first year rates. The 99 cent deal comes and goes every so often, but +'ing because, comparitively, it's still a good deal. Also, you get full control; domain forwarding (full URL forward OR frame forward), you can easily set auto-renew to off, name server editing without too much hassle, etc.

    • netorigin in australia is reasonably cheap @ $7.95/year .com with free private registration http://www.netorigin.com.au/domain-names . they only have a very basic interface though (which suits me fine) - dns server addresses, registration details (you enter their details for private registration), registrar lock/unlock, epp code & auto-renew enable/disable.

  • dont do it! 1&1 are bad news there are many horror stories of peeps getting charged long after they cancel their domains. even having debt collectors come around….Beware

    • Here's a workaround to "excess" charges:

Pay -only- by PayPal… when you see the initial PayPal payment marked COMPLETE, just Cancel the PayPal agreement.

They shouldn't be able to [over]charge.

  • Lots of bad reviews all over the internet, I'd be worried about going with them.

Also they provide free private domain registration, that is a bad sign, because once your registration is private, you can't transfer the domain to another provider until you get the privacy removed. Which they might not do, judging from the reviews. Maybe it's a trick to get your domain trapped with them.

    • That's falsified rubbish… And there's lots of bad reviews about ANY large provider on the Internet these days. You learn how to make informed decisions based on the good AND bad… FYI, the admin contact shows up as private, but all emails sent to the listed email address (which contains an algorithm) still come through. In the event of a domain transfer, you have easy access to the authorisation code at any time, and then it's just a matter of clicking on a link sent to the private admin email address to confirm.

      • Not true, I tried to transfer a domain name with privacy protection before, and emails sent to the listed email address did NOT go to my email box. They blamed it on the spam catcher, which I find extremely lame, but they got away with it.

    • So, report them to ICANN, et al.

  • I registered a domain name and they told me to scan ID, ridiculous..! I'll cancel it tomorrow.
