Better off buying from Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/AMD-Ryzen-5600-12-Thread-Processor… - No fees & free next day delivery

    • +12

Yeah, I thought this is free shipping, if you want the free game $5 more actually not a bad deal. Amazon doesn’t eligible for free game.

Fk centrecom, only bad experiences here

    • +5

I have this attitude towards mwave. Centrecom in my experience have been really good, my orders get shipped instantly.

    • Ordered from them recently. No hassle transaction. Was happy with them.

    • No issues here

      • No issue until you had a issue with them. Ex. Warranty

i live behind nunawading centrecom and half their workers are rude or don't give a fk about their job. idk about other stores though.

    • All good with them.. all my orders came fast

    • I had an item delivered took 6 weeks in Auspost, contacted Auspost took them 4 working days to reply. Contacted centrecom they replied in 1-2 hours, I think cenrecom already did what they can asap, just Auspost really bad.

    • I've stopped buying from Centrecom as well, delivery is good but if you need customer support you're f'ed.

    Same price at Umart.

And MSY. Literally brought this CPU Sunday.

      • Brought or bought?

      • +4

Why did you take it there, they already have heaps.

    • Haha bloody Umart. Last Tuesday I requested a price match with them and Scorptec/PCCG and they said no, so I bought from Scorptec. And now they lower their price!

Would have saved postage as I live 10 mins from a Umart.

should i buy this or wait until 5800x3d or am5 prices drop? (Currently using r5 3600)

    • +2

      Same situation, same dilemma.

    • 5800x3d is around 15% faster.
      https://youtu.be/A-l8dJRvb3c

    • i'll be waiting for a ~$400-$450 5800x3d, doesn't make sense (over-)paying for minor intermediate upgrades

      • +2

Honestly doubt it will drop to that low, they have no problem moving it

        • +2

True I been checking daily, has had no problem selling still

    • Price of Zen 4 will be dropped soon. 7950X is around only AUD850 in China now, it's very surprising for a new CPU.

    $199 plus delivery plus surcharges?

No deal… $189 delivered from Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/AMD-Ryzen-5600G-12-Thread-Processo…

And if you have Fleabay Plus, it's even cheaper $183.08

Both of your links are for different CPU (5600G which is significantly slower than 5600)

Amazon of course selling 5600 for $199 though

      • +3

Right you are good sir… on both counts. I missed the G completely. Carry on.

Amazon will delivery by Friday if ordered today… good luck anyone else being that quick.

        • No one can beat amazon delivery, I can get this the same day if I order before 11am…

    • Might wanna revoke your neg as that's a 5600 not a 5600G..

      • Already did… you are too quick on the draw.

    • +3

I won't jump on the hate train and instead say this mistake wouldn't have happened if AMD used a more sensible naming scheme - the 5600G should be called the 5500G…

      • +3

higher chances of winning the lottery than AMD sticking to sensible naming schemes.

  • Pretty good price, I ordered recently through the computer alliance deal which was $40 more. Great CPU, perfect for gaming, runs great on an older MSI b350 board with BIOS update. More than double the single thread performance of the1700 it replaced.

Any point upgrading to a 5600 from a Ryzen 3600, in terms of gaming performance?

I feel it'd be smart to nab a Ryzen 5xxx series while they are still easily available and on sale to delay upgrading my motherboard to AM5 a little longer.

    • +2

      I wouldnt
      5800x3d or hold out

  • Is it good for heavy desktop use?? For work i have to use multiple browser and many tabs, my current i5-7500 is mostly running at 100%. I am thinking of upgrading to 5600+compatible motherboard and use rest from old setup. Also, does it comes with heat sink?

    • a Ryzen 5 5600 will be way faster than a i5-7500, so yeah it would be a good upgrade.
Keep in mind that the 5600 does not have a iGPU so if you dont have an seperate GPU you will need to get the 5600g and a motherboard with graphics outputs.

      • I have a gtx970, will it work with ryzen??

    • +1

I have a 5600 and WFH. I run 2 VM's for work and then do other things natively. The CPU cores barely register any usage, normally between 10-25% usage.

      • Cool I run an 8th gen and WFH and sit between 80-100% CPU util daily. Do you think its possible we might not all work at the same place and have the same jobs? I'm not doing anything particularly special, web browsers and teams chats, 3 monitors.

        • same setup and the same issue. hope 5600 will fix it.

        • If you mean 8th Gen Intel, this would probably be a bit faster. But probably not enough to warrant getting a new CPU and MB.

  • AM4 motherboards (x570/x470/b550) seems to have gone up in price. Any deals for these motherboards?

    • Would love to know too - particularly for ITX boards..
