Best Melbourne Puncture Repair for Car Tyre?

G’day folks!!

Got a bolt in my tyre yesterday 🙄 just wondering the best cheapest place Near the city or in western suburbs to get it fixed up?

Comments

  • Bob Jane T-Marts Highpoint. They repaired a previous puncture for a reasonable cost, good service and quick repair.

  • Is it on the Tread or on or near the Sidewall or Shoulder of the tyre.

If the latter, it won't be a fix up.

Eh they are like $30 most places

    • For DIY bacon strips - A professional repair with a mushroom will cost more, but is better, especially if DIYer isn't sure of what they are doing.

What , you had to post this question?

Just go to your closest tyre shop and get it fixed.

Nah, clearly much safer and easier to drive ~30-45 minutes between western suburbs and CBD to find one that might be $5 cheaper

    • Just go to your closest tyre shop and get it fixed.

      Sounds too rational.

put on a nut from the other side & tighten….problem solved for 20 cents <taps head>

  • There's also only so far you can drive on a flat before the tyre loses its integrity and needs replacing (which I've been told is as little as a few hundred metres)
Once they take a look inside the tyre it might have all these rubber dust which means its finished and needs replacement.

Dude, most cars have a thing called a spare. There's no suggestion that anyone is driving on a flat.

    • If it has only punctured the outer layer, it’s not flat as it hasn’t hit the inner tubing that is where the air is compressed.

Also the bolt may also be keeping it sealed.

Yes fix it asap, but people have gone days without even noticing these things.

DIY cheap &easy.go to Supercheap get tool .

    • If it hasn’t hit the inner tubing then it’ll cost more to buy the tool to fix it. Last time I did it was about $35. (Perks of living near construction 🙄)

        Most cars are tubeless

@jjjaar: But your tyres should not be as old as the car
