Sydney New Year Fireworks Recommendations?

Hi, would love to have a good experience for new year fireworks in Sydney with my partner.

Hotels are booked out as they are given, I am late. Any recommends for booking a hotel room with views for next year though?

Happy to pay some money to avoid the crowds, perhaps enjoy some food or drinks. Any recommends for good value paid events to avoid the crowd and see fireworks? I don't want stay home, don't want spend $800

Saw some cruise party boats usually $500+ pp but not really looking for a clubbing event on a boat. Taronga zoo had some ticketed events but way too far away

My budget around $200-$300pp, but if the experience is worth it I can pay more

  • You could probably pay someone $200 to camp on a picnic spot all day for you

      Covers all of OP's bases:

      • Cheap
      • No crowds
      • Enjoy some drinks
      • Great views

      I don't want stay home, don't want spend $800

Then get a $700 bottle of whisky.

Unless you're going for a cheap and cheerful park-based option, your requirements, budget, and Sydney NYE parties are likely incompatible.

An actual catered event is likely be $300+ pp minimum, plus hotels that won't be cheap. Without even getting that funky, you could easily be looking at $1,500 per couple.

  • $600 for a hotel room with views of Sydney harbour on NYE? You must be new to Sydney lol. The hotels that have views to Sydney harbour charges at least that much during normal time let alone the biggest night of the year. You can catch the ferry to Taronga zoo from Sydney Harbour so why is it too far away?

    • don't know where OP is getting $600 but hotels are charging at least 1 grand per night for harbour/firework views with minumum 2-3 day bookings over NYE. you may get lucky with an airbnb but those bookings quite often get cancelled due to uh..unexpected circumstances..

Not sure about inviting a Fat Horny Ghost

  • Mate just get some kebabs and pizzas delivered at home and enjoy the evening without having to hear everyone's noises.
