Aren't these still free basically everywhere? I have so many unused boxes still, who is paying for these?

    • +1

      Not in NSW.

      • +3

        Or Qld

      • The exact same brand are free at Service NSW for people on concessions.

yeah mate, i hear you… new box every kinder drop off. … I'd have 300 tests at home by now

      • +1

        Yowza that's a lot!

        • +5

there is no logic to it, the kinder sends home a box of 5, 5 days a week. 25 a week, and they have boxes of them in the waiting room with "please take" on them

its a very well thought out and funded government program….

    • Have used these before and can confirm they work. Excellent price as well.

      • Yep, same experience

      • +5

        can confirm they work

        Sorry to hear that =(

No COVID for me yet but I gave some tests to a wrok colleague and his whole family (5 people) were positive. Confirmed with PCR tests.

I "just" had the flu and all I can say is you don't want that either lol.

    • Nice detective work

    • Thanks for this, needed some for our upcoming holiday :D

  • Can get packs of 20 from Costco for $3 per test ($60).

  • +2

poor marketing.. they should sell these as nose cleaning buds.. people may buy

  • +5

    99.4% error rate.

    • Error rate or accuracy?

  • +6

Remember when you had to get a bank loan to buy these things !

    • The good old days when interests rates weren't going to the moon!

      • The bad old days when house prices weren’t collapsing.

    • Indeed, but it totally wasn't a scam at all………

      • as someone who was (ironically) travelling often during that period, it boggled my mind that they were ~100x more expensive in Aus than… basically anywhere else in the world. Now the aussie tax has come down to a much more reasonable ~5x.

  • Free in Western Australia.

Not sure if these can detect the latest variant but the goverment have closed all public PCR testing facilities except 2 in Perth. So i guess its reliable as per the goverment.

      • Dont worry, @nahkk.. I was only being facetious above. There's no way i'm spending a cent on these tests!

    is covid still a thing?

    cheaper elswehere

  • The N95 masks are better value IMHO. 20 for $28.16 ($1.40 inc tax).

    https://www.plusmedical.com.au/masks-sq100g-2.html

  • People should should still be tested everyday like we use to because this virus is deadly and highly infectious. I support lockdowns and mandatory testing everyday. Dan andrews did such a great job when he put people in jail for breaking the rules and curfew really made a difference too. Dan Andrews is awsome

    • The vast majority of people were NOT tested daily.

      • That is a crime of century. Are you still testing daily? Do you part. Save the grandma

        • No.

So you are contributing to the global warming by using resources that you do not need or are advised to use?

  • +4

This doesn't appear to be a bargain, more like using Ozbargain for free advertising.

Cheaper elsewhere for a 5pk as mentioned above by M00Cow.

  • +2

Cheaper elsewhere as per above - try again rep
