  • Does this come with the projector screen?

  • +1

    Yes, ALR screen is included.

  • Am also wondering if this will work in a brightly lit room?

    • +1

It will work better than a standard projector but not as well as a real TV.

      • +2

        What about a fake tv?

        • +1

Real TV can't beat a fake tv due to its infinite contrast. The brighter the environment the better the quality. However in a dark room fake tv fails spectacularly.

    • My bro in law has this setup. And it works really well in a well lit room. You wont complain.

    • Delivery for this store kills it for me - $209 to SA.

      • I got $179 - still too much.

      • True. The difference in shipping for large items can easily overcome the cost of a Costco membership. Not mentioning the better customer service of Costco.

        • My point wasn’t that there is a better deal at the linked store. It meant that the price is almost same everywhere so it’s not much of a discount that they are showing.

          $2995 at JB

          $2990 at Videopro

          • @Pricebeat: Good for those without a membership like me.

  • I bought a samsung 120 inch laser TV, and managed to project to my entire wall about 150-160 inches. I feel the quality is still the same.

    • Do you mean same quality as projecting to a Fresnel screen?

      • They were unable to observe a degradation in quality going from 120" to 150-160"

        • I assume 100" has no difference from a 120" inch laser projector, but cheaper.

      • I project 4k movies to the wall. I can't really notice any difference. The image is still crystal clear. I don't know why the spec only limited the size to 100".

        • 100" will be the size of the ALR screen.
A 120" or a 150" screen will cost more to produce and ship.

If you have a bigger budget, this is a better option with triple laser instead of the single laser, which comes with the ALR screen too. TGG had a good offer during the click frenzy 20% off $4795 which came down to $3836 + $55 delivery.

    Next best deal on this is at Costco at $4350;

  • Would we have much 4k content now that Netflix is proposing a premium charge for 1080p and 4k content..
