ugh hearing this killled this deal for me

    • Seconding this. I got a blue one!

    • Would be confident in saying will be the same this year or at least $69. With the upcoming 15% off TCN cards at Coles I'll probably try price match at JB for another controller.

  • I couldn't think of any games that are PS5 only that I cannot play 2-player co-op with my existing PS4 controller.

    • It Takes Two PS5 version

  • Genuine question, why are controllers so insanely expensive this generation? Xbox One controllers were going on sale for $50-60 from early on.

    • +3

Xbox controllers largely haven't changed at all whereas every PlayStation controller has had somewhat significant amount of changes but the same essence. The ps5 controller has a lot of technology so it makes sense.

I'm also not 100% sure on this, as I haven't tested the latest Xbox Controllers, but the PS5 controller can be overclocked on PC to 8000Hz instead of the default 250Hz (4ms) response time. Making it equal to the highest quality mouses on the market with a reported constant 0ms response time. Zero input delay basically.

        • huh, is this the response time of the actual controls? interesting

          • @GenghisGun: Yep. Basically like high end mice and keyboards, the moment you press a button, the instant it registers.

    Need back paddles

  • i bought 2 ps5 controllers last year around black friday, and to tell the truth, i still use my xbox x controller as it feels better

    • Do you have any issues connecting to PC? The Bluetooth connection drops everytime after 5 seconds and it's impossible for me to use it wirelessly.

      • yes man, i have. It has very poor compatibility to BT 5 and above, but works fine with BT4.2.
Also, it is impossible to connect 2 ps5 controllers to pc use bluetooth at the same time.

        • You can certainly use DS4Windows and connect two PS5 Controllers to PC. DS4Windows also allows you to overclock the Bluetooth Connection to 1000Hz (1ms response time). Using a wired connection, there's another program that can be used to overclock the controller to 8000Hz, which is a reported 0 ms response time, instantaneous input basically.

Thanks so much for the info about the Bluetooth, that's a mine gold. Tried everything I'm the forums and couldn't make it work.
Also, thanks for the info about the ps5 controllers, but already got it hahaha. Will find it some use.

I hope Sony release a proper red PS5 controller at some point, not this magenta/pink tinged weirdness.
