  • Hey Rep - apologies, off topic but do you know of any multi-zone capable units that have discrete DAC (allow different OR same output per zones). I believe this one does it, but was eyeing off the VSX-935 which says it can do it also but is cheaper than this.
Replacing a blown up VSX-930 - 2nd zone is just alfresco speakers (main zone is TV + stereo speakers) but love being able to simultaneously play back the same, or different sources as required to both zones.

    Thoughts muchly appreciated!

Hey! Yep the Pioneer VSX-935 will definitely allow you to do what you want to do. Personally, I have found that the Onkyo receivers have more punch to them, so even if you look at something like the TX-NR6100 as a comparable model to the Pioneer VSX-935 that would give you a better sound stage overall. In saying that though, the Pioneer is still a great unit and has been very popular with a lot of our clients! :)

    The important info!

The Onkyo TX-NR7100 has six HDMI 2.1/HDCP 2.3 ports, with ports 1-3 at 40gbps, while 4-6 are 24gbps. Onkyo says the TX-NR7100 will do 4k120 on all six inputs; however, only ports 1-3 are uncompressed.

Its not capped out at 24gbps like those fake HDMI 2.1 AVR from Yamaha.

    • Correct, we have had it tested here and its true to its word, the amplifier works perfectly

  • I think this is one of the few 9.2 receiver that doesnt have 11 Channels processing. Correct me if i m wrong.

Onkyo used to have a pretty poor reputation with failing hdmi boards. Is that still the case? Worth paying a few hundred more for Denon?

    • Good question. My 2014 model HDMI board failed twice.

      • +2

Yes and first time ONKYO relied on another manufacturer to build their HDMI boards.
as far as we know they are still servicing them till now, and or trading them in for a new model.. contact us if you have one and we can help out

    • Definitely not, we never sold the brand back then, and we took them on back in 2018. so for us we have had a great run.

  • That's not a Black Friday bargain.

    • its new model and 15% off, our sales prove to be a good one:)

Hey Rep, any chance of a good special on the Integra drx 3.4. Similar specs to the 7100 with pre-outs. I know it's reduced from RRP, but any chance of a better deal during the sale.

    • Give us a call today we are open till 3pm Melbourne Time.

  • Just wanted to give a shout out to @FunkyDan RIO !
I purchased one of these through Dani and Paul at your Preston store for a smidge over $1500, which is an amazing bargain.
Especially when it includes insured express freight to WA!
Thank you for a fantastic deal and brilliant service!
