  • Dis good deal right?

      No

    • If you want a Legion right now its not a bad deal, would otherwise suggest waiting for a return of those 2k 3070 L5P gen 6 deals. Rembrandt is a refresh of 5000 series with updated nodes and performance gains outside of iGPU (RDNA2 this time round) and battery life is marginal. and so is ddr5 sodimm at current speeds and latency. Its a great machine dont get me wrong but paying two grand for a 3060 is a bit iffy when the same price if you are more patient can certainly net you a good 3070 lappy, especially considering christmas and boxing day deals coming soon.

      • I don't think that Gen 6 Legions are still in production. It looks like what Lenovo sold is excess stock.

    • The 3060 dgpu is only like 15 % better in gaming. Another 900 dollar off with just the 6800H and 16 GB of rams alone would make the deal platable.

      • Just add a bit of soy sauce right?

  • Not really worth it, the main thing you get from the 6800H vs 5800H Legion 5 Pro is the metal chassis.
Yes, that’s about it. 2021 model was going for 1695 from the initial October listing to Lenovo 22 code November ebay listing.

The benefits of Rembrandt are extremely minor, you can check Jarrods review on YT to see a more in-depth comparison.

    • The perf. improvement in CPU is not like intel with its own gen. leap but hey the price is also not as high as intel's and we get USB4 support (if not released uptill now through firmware upgrade) and the battery timing is great on AMD if occasional mobility is needed.

and PCIe 4.0 and USB4 and improved battery life and a 16:10 screen compared to the Legion 5 with a better cooling system*

      • Last years L5P also have the identical screen, and there were 3070 deals at this price, just saying. Cooling solution upgrades if any are tiny. And if it’s the standard 5 it’s a lot cheaper - there were a quite few 1.6k deals mind you.

Both pcie 4 and usb 4 are small gains most people won’t notice in actual usage and battery life & igpu is the only thing thats really better here but given this is a gaming laptop battery life isn’t exactly top of the checklist for most people neither.

        • valid points all around - i'd make use of the usb 4, and i'd really prefer the better build quality, but it's different strokes for different folks. you're right; for most people the legion 5 non-pro would make more sense.

  • Looking for a 3070 or pref. 3070 ti based model and Lenovo Aus is seriously lacking that (only one around 3600 $ showing).

I think Kraken is the best laptop in the rtx3060 range now…

  • This is a good deal..seems all stocks are gone, can't find the discounted ones anymore.
