    Oooft.

So buy and I can return if I find it cheaper on Black Friday?

    Edit: Amazon's camera returns policy

You can return most new, unopened items fulfilled by Amazon AU within 30 days of receipt of delivery for a replacement or full refund of the price you paid for the item if you change your mind - see About Replacements and About Refunds.

    • Careful, they do accept return but takes a while to credit back to your CC around 2-3 weeks for high price items

      • Do you have to pay for the return shipping with Amazon for "change of mind"?

      • I have always had my refund processed the day the return is posted and an Australia Post con note is generated. That is, they process before they have even received the return.

Digidirect and CameraPro already have Black Friday sales up. Doubtful you'll find any cheaper than advertised for Black Friday, but maybe another $100 cheaper if it's on the Digidirect eBay when they have 20% sales, which happen semi-regularly.

recently Amazon toughened the return policy, I tried, you need to ensure item unopened, and you have to pay the return postage

  • Is it worth the upgrade over X-T4?

    • Depends on how much you can sell the xt4 for

      • +2

And what you value more. Compared to the X-T4:

        X-T5 Pros
        - AI focussing modes (and better overall focus)
        - 40MP stills (although 26MP is still nothing to sneeze at)
        - 6K video
        - High res mode (although early reviews suggest the Fujifilm implementation isn't anywhere near as good as Olympus/Panasonic)
        - Nostalgic Neg
        - Smaller and lighter
        - 3 way tilt screen (although this could be a negative)
        - Wifi 5 (although I haven't seen any reviewers even discuss this)
        - Slightly better battery life

        X-T5 Negs
        - More expensive
        - Slower shooting
        - Larger file sizes
        - Smaller buffer (thanks to larger file sizes)
        - Slower sensor readout and more rolling shutter
        - No vertical grip option (although this isn't even a consideration for me considering battery life is so good)

I'm always tempted by new gear, but my combo of X-T4 and X-T1 are perfectly good enough for me. Now when the X-S20/X-T40/X-E5 come out, that might be a whole different story depending on features and price

      No

    • How about Is it worth the upgrade over X-T3?

I have got 2 XT3, which i really like, but no IBIS

      • +2

Ibis alone makes it worth it

  • Also considering whether to upgrade from X-T3, noting about half of my lenses have IS anyway.

With the pixel-shift, can the high-res 160MP file be automatically interpolated back down to a smaller file size in-camera. i.e. to get a better quality normal sized image? And how long do you have to keep the camera steady for a pixel-shift image?

    • +1

Nope. No in camera processing of high res mode. You need to combine the photos on your computer using Fujifilm software

  • Just going to hodl till tracking is well and truely sorted with these models.
