iPhone X Keeps Restarting

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on what to do with my iPhone.

So my iPhone X keeps restarting, it has the 15.7 version of the software. I have been trying to update to the newer version but because it keeps switching off, I am unable to do that (I have tried doing this on iTunes while connected to my PC but no luck). I have also tried hard reset but it didn’t do the job. Also removed the SIM card but it didn’t work either

Has anyone experienced the same issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

          Lol maybe ask him

    • Who is Abi?

      Dear Abi,

      • Ironically that's how I started my letter to him when I couldn't establish communication by mobile phone.

What does it say in Settings -> Battery -> Battery Health

Maybe it’s the battery it can’t hold a charge anymore, it’s time for a replacement. A replacement from Apple is $109 and usually take an hour

  • Try resetting Network settings. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset Network Settings.

If that fails try a factory reset. Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset All Settings. This will reset everything but keep your data.

Turn on airplane mode as soon as your phone restarts, wait a few mins and turn it back off. Should stop it from restarting for a while.

    Which software has version 15.7?

  • Most likely it's your battery health.

As your battery degrades it's ability to provide the full maximum voltage and current it is rated for gets lower and when it simply can't fulfill the power that the SOC is asking for it will experience a sudden drop in voltage which will crash/restart the phone. It's just how batteries work.

Most of the time with normal use your phone's SOC will not be demanding that much power, but in moments such as with demanding apps like games or software update processes your chip will be running at full speed requiring the high voltage.

No point repeatedly trying to update, every time you do you are stressing the battery and likely reducing the voltage and current it can provide even lower. If your phone is restarting by itself with normal use then you have probably already reached the point of no return, your phone won't operate properly until you replace the battery with a new healthy one.
