I spent close to $400 last knipex deal,

    • Those are rookie numbers.

    816 RA ratchet screwdriver $33.62

    • Good spot thanks Barney, added to post with credit.

      • Had it on the camels for a price drop!

        • Picked this one up on the last sale. Very nice quality ratcheting mechanism and bit connector (Rapidaptor).

          • @Villainous: Are you going to use it with standard short bits?

            • @CanadaAye: I personally don't like or use short bits at all. I buy impact bits for my drills typically around the 50mm-90mm length as when you come across recessed screws etc, the short bits don't cut it so I eliminate them all together and keep them all in a Dewalt magnetic case here (purchased for $35) and just interchange bits between drill and screwdrivers. I also have the 1/4" Zklop kit that also has 50mm bits that go nice together as well as extension bits to get into those hard to reach places.

  • Nothing wrong with some super knips

    • +3

      Especially when it's cold.

  • The bicycle set is really cool, comes with a case, just bring what your bike needs.

I whole heartedly recommend that set over the Tool Plus.
I posted a brief comparison between this and the Tool Check Plus set previously.

Having ordered both, I can shed some light:
      - Very similar kits, with the exceptions of the extra case, tyre levers and some different bits: the kit with the case has hex bits while the other one doesn’t (check out the part list to compare them). Edit: and a different socket as well. Also ignore the pictured gold bits that I saw mentioned earlier, mine didn’t come with any gold bits, I wasn’t too fussed.
      - The soft case is very nice/handy and you get the extra plastic holder, both of which are reasons enough to pay a bit extra for since you can’t get them by themselves cheaply.
      - This is important: with the Bicycle set (kit with the case), DO NOT order from Amazon AU if you want the tyre levers, order from Amazon UK seller instead (in this instance you’d get it from Amazon UK anyway since it’s cheaper). The AU kit does not come with tyre levers despite the image showing it. The 3 kits I got from AU does not come with tyre levers (1 initial order + 2 replacements after I contacted CS). Reps chalked it up to listing error but they still haven’t changed the listing. I ended up getting it from UK and got the correct set first time. The tyre levers are ~$30 by themselves.
      - Minor difference: the hard plastic case (the actual thing that flips open): AU version has the button release while UK one doesn’t. Initially the AU version seems nicer but I ended up keeping the UK since the AU mechanism seems like it will fail easier later down the track, you also get more space between the bits and sockets thanks to the absence of the release button.

      • Thanks for the write up. Also interested in the Topeak set, quality wouldn't be the same, but comes with tools.

      • Still not understanding why the bike set over the tool plus

        • +2

The tool plus has many double ups and triple ups.
I bought, the other week, the Bicycle Set 3.
          $114.78 less 10%

Has, the extra smaller carrier. Tyre irons levers which I probably won't ever use as I got the kit for my motorbike, but apparently are $30 on their own. Has the black carry bag, which will fit under my seat for drier storage. Extra carrier, if I need to add anything particular, for my motorbike or have an easier grab set. Doesn't have 5 Pozidrive bits, in only 2 sizes, which I will never use. Has 15mm socket which it more likely to be needed. Has more Torx sizes, (27 not included in the tool plus) and doesn't have security Torx bits, which is not needed norm torx will suffice. Has ball end hex bits which is likely to be handy. Doesn't have 5 Phillips bits, in only two sizes.

The tool plus check kit might suit you and your requirements, but the bicycle set3 is better for me….on my motorbike

        • What Spending2Much said.
For me the deciding factor was the case and the tyre levers.
The case keeps everything tidy, clean and dry.
The tyre levers, aside from being, well, tyre levers, have hex hole on the end so can use it as a bit wrench as well.
The extra mini hard case and potentially more useful socket & bit assortments (subjective) are just icing on top.

  • Only 1 left of first hex set. Doesn't seem to be much stock

Buy Now or wait till Black Friday?

    • -1

Buy now and on Black Friday ;) Always free returns if it's cheaper in a week.

      • Does Amazon still give free returns for "Change of Mind"? I thought they charge now, but not sure?

        • +1

They do charge for change of mind. If something doesn't meet your expectations then this isn't charged and pricing is a factor of expectation.

  • Knipex Super Knips
    Knipex 78 61 125 (Comfort Grips) $26.69(amazon.com.au) (B2G10O)
    Knipex 78 03 125AF (Comfort Grips) $30.98(amazon.com.au) (B2G10O)
    Knipex 78 81 125 (Comfort Grips) $31.63(amazon.com.au) (B2G10O)
    Knipex 78 13 125 (ESD Multi-Component Grips) 35.32(amazon.com.au)

What's the difference between each of them?

61 and 81 look exactly the same..

I just got the 78 61 125 and goddamn they are sharp, wondering if Knipex are like Pokemon.. do I need to catch them all?

  • Really want the Knipex 8604100 to go on a good special….
$150 just seems wayyyyy too much

    • The 12.5cm/5 inch plier wrench can be had regularly in a set with the cobra (same size) at around $100-110 $91.27, comes in a belt pouch too. I guess it’s personal preferences but it maybe more useful and easier to handle than the 10cm/4 inch you mentioned.
Edit: Knipex Belt Pouch 2 Pieces Set $91.27 less B2G10O

  • Must resist! Need to stop buying more tools.

    • +1

I am also undecided to pull the trigger on the 'Wera Joker_Set_SIS Joker Set' or something else from Knipex or Wera to go with another 'Knipex Belt Pouch 2 Pieces Set' already in the cart for B2G10O. Interested to try this set.

    • +1

I'm sure you know what you need but it's worth pointing out that the last set you listed are Alligators.
The Cobra equivalent set is also on sale at $70.94 and B2G10O.
The Cobras have more/finer adjustment positions and are easier to adjust (push button) and may be well worth the price difference here.

      • +1

yeah, now u mention it, just cancelled my order & grabbed the Cobra's… Thx @zonra

Now to find something else to pair them with for the Buy 2 save 10%..

For Knipex Super Knips, take a look at the 'Knipex 78 13 125 SB Electronic Super Knips with multi-component grips (Blister Packed - again not getting an opened/used pack), 125 mm'. at $34.99 (or $31.49 B2G10O). It has a unique 'lead catcher' as Knipex called it. It essential hold onto the wire off cut from flying everywhere. It is very effective and the Knips is super sharp. I have a pair and would recommand it. Bought my around $45 awhile back.
