Duplicate of this which has more info.

    • Probs go by timestamp and consolidate here?

    • You might want to re-read that deal description, and the timestamp.

Also has the standard promo code slapped on for no reason?

looks like this post was first, I'm happy to remove my post

edit : my post was marked as duplicate

  • Awaits the next K371 wave of price drops too

This is ok for the price, but expect the AKG K612, Sennheiser HD 560S and the HIFIMAN HE400SE at $180-$220, all genuinely better value than this.

In fact the K612 is $220 right now, and the HE400SE is almost always at $209.

    • I’ll be on the HD560s at that price so damn quick. Have spent the last couple of weeks researching audiophile-tier cans at the 200-300 price point, and they seem to be a winner for my use case

Consider Beyerdynamic range DT 880/990 and especially check out audio technica ATH-AD900X. All of these punch above their weight and the AT's are easily the most comfortable cans I own.

But you can't go wrong with sennheiser either, great sound signatures and comfort.

  • Price now > 200 for me

    • Not for me. Still $149

Have these, they're great for the price especially if you like noctua

Is there a wireless/bluetooth version of these

    • I'm not sure I've ever seen a pair of open-backed Bluetooth headphones, though Sennheiser do make some 2.4Ghz wireless open-back cans. You can get adapters that slot into the cable jack on the headphones to make these wireless though, I think

      • it would look weird on the train thats for sure

      • HIFIMAN Ananda and DEVA both have Bluetooth versions, but yes to date it is rare.

        LC3 codec might change things.

I have these. They look great and sound fine for the price. I think they definitely benefit from an external DAC to get the most out of them. The other downside is the foam cups make your ears a little warm with prolonged listening. I have them with the iFi Zen DAC V2 and it works quite well.

I power mine straight off my lg v30 (sometimes with a little fiio phone amp for extra oomph) and they sound great.
