  • I actually have one of these to go with my linea mini. Really good machine

  • Really want to get one of these, but switching between espresso and filter seems to be a tricky.

    • Get two :)

    • +1

This for espresso and a timemore chestnut V2 for filter.

  • Bought the black one, end up paying €340.76 inc. shipping (€45.00).

    • do you know what mean for 16cr and 15BL ?

      • 16cr means chrome and 15bl means black for the part where the digital screen is. You can check how it looks here using the mignon configurator: https://www.eureka.co.it/en/catalogo/prodotti/macinacaff%C3%…

        • Thanks. I plan to buy the grinder and coffee machine from them too. Price comapre is still cheaper. Do we need to pay Tax for over $1000 purchases?

          • @thomas2017: I'm not 100% sure, you might need to contact customs to confirm.

          • @thomas2017: GST applies whether over or under $1000, but my personal experience purchasing from this shop was that I was not charged GST. The retailer has to be registered for GST and also has to have a certain threshold of business from Australian customers to be required to collect it (is my understanding).

            • @Zenyatta: So you mean we just paid for what the shop asking. And got delivery without any paying extra for GST right ?

  • Mine arrived today…

    • I’ve not bought anything expensive from overseas since the whole GST enforcement kicked in. Did you just get a bill from Customs once it arrived and what, they send you a letter with how to pay it to release it for delivery?

      • It's under a $1000, customs didn't do anything. The courier (UPS) did hold onto it in Sydney for a few days whilst they chased up with the seller the details for the customs clearance

        • Unfortunately I also bought a coffee machine so the order was about $1800 :(

  • Does anybody have the niche zero to compare with the specialita? This works out to be about half the price.

  • Anyone able to offer some opinions on if the EUREKA MIGNON SINGLE DOSE is worth it over the Eureka Mignon Specialita? I'm always single dosing for espresso but may sometimes do a pour over and I generally prefer light-medium roast, if any of that changes anything.

    • +1

I use this mignon specialiata as a single dose and get next to no retention

    • +1

I’ve got the Mignon Zero which was slightly cheaper than the Specialita and it’s been great. It has the same 55mm burrs as the Specialita but no timer or LCD screen.

      • I just ended up buying the single dose 😂

        • +1

Haha I'm sure it's great like all their other stuff

  • Thanks for alerting me to this offer. I already have this grinder (which is great btw), however picked up some new scales, and also the ECM flow controller. Cheers!

  • Thanks, grabbed the Black 15BL for €330.31 / $512.70 inc shipping. Time to sell the SGP

  • Grabbed a mignon Libra for under $1k. Time to see how it goes against my robur e

    • I had my eye on one of these with the grind by weight tech and was going to pick one up but no white or Chrome in stock. Haven't seen many reviews of this online. I assuming it would grind similar to the Specialita I own just with the weighing tech onboard?

      • Yeah same 55mm flat burrs. Best dosing grinder out there imo for the price. Baratza sette is a POS and then to step up is double to triple the price

        • Cool I have the specialita and loving it. Came from SGP before and it's a decent step up, well worth it.

  • Link to a demo unit of the Eureka Mignon Specialita - reviews suggest the units are brand new (or close to). Around $427 before discount… https://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/en/refurbished-espresso-m…

    • I did see that version - but I think its out of stock! The "Add to Cart" button is disabled.

  • Grabbed one! Can’t wait to move past my Breville SGP that I’ve had for several years. Might even be able to sell it close to what I bought it for as Breville prices have gone crazy.

    Thanks OP!

  • Grabbed a demo Eureka Mignonette Chrono, $199 including shipping. It’ll come with filtro burrs though , does anyone know where can I buy espresso burrs?

    • Actually they have genuine espresso burrs for sale.

Been waiting for BF sales from these guys. Picked up a Lelit Mara X. Almost went with a Profitec Pro 500.

    • +1

Did that end up being 989eur/1.5k AUD (not including GST?)
      So 1.6k roughly for a mara X?

  • Just over $1.5k AUD delivered. GST & import tax another 10% and 5% if charged. Would take the price up to $1758 ish. Local price is $2400 odd. Profitec Pro 500 would be $2138 or $2458 with GST & import fees roughly

    • Any reason you didn't go the profitec 400? Tossing up between. The 400 and mara x

      • I did consider the Profitec Pro 400 and 500 (lovely machines and better built than the Mara X) but couldn't get the minister of finance onboard to spend the extra $300-$700. We were looking at buying another Breville dual boiler for $900 so $1.7k was our limit for now. I figure if I get the upgrade itch (most probably) I can sell the Lelit in 6-12 months time and still get a decent price for it. I believe Lelit is owned by Breville now so parts if needed shouldn't be an issue.

        • Ahh yeh very good..I came from a Breville db then wenr oracle and Im using an oracle with a Eureka so a bit of wasted space. Profitec 500 looks good. Trying to decide if 1.5k mara X or 1.8k profitec 400.

      • Tough choice. The Profitec Pro 400 is a better built machine and looks better than the Mara X in my eyes. Its also more expensive and slightly wider/bigger than the Mara (if bench space is an issue for you)

If I had the extra budget I would lean toward the Pro 400 personally

  • How does it compare to Breville smar grinder pro and Is it a big upgrade?

    • +2

Yes. Def better. Upgraded mine and never looked back

    • +1

Fluffier grinds, less clumping, less retention, bigger flat burrs, quieter and stepless. A big step up for sure!

      • What sort of difference does that produce in the cup?

        • I would say investing in a good grinder would make more of a difference to better tasting coffee than a coffee machine within reason

          • +1

@Solrak: I agree with solrak. A good grinder leads to a better coffee than a newer more expensive coffee machine.

You can get a good shot from a basic machine if you have a good grinder. The same can't be said about a bad grinder and a good machine. It all comes down to the grind. A good grinder will give you consistency in, input/output and weight etc.

        • What I meant was, what aspects of the coffee would the above (fluffier grinds, less clumping) improve? What aspects of the coffee should I expect to be better if I invest in this to replace my old second hand Sunbeam grinder?

          • @kiitos: Being able to control the grind consistently allows you to get the best output of your coffee beans. It can get quite scientific and mathematical lol.

Eg, I weigh 20grams and output 1.5x on Brand A (30g if coffee) of beans and 1.8x (36g of coffee) on Brand B because each bean has a different type of profile and brew ratio. Not being able to control the grinds will result in coffee that's too bitter or too sour (over or under extracted). And on a bad grinder, you won't get consistency due to retention (1 day old grinds) or output that varies too much

  • EU plug with AUST adaptor? Does the adaptor impact performance?

    • +1

      No.

  • I finally ordered one. I was soo upset when I missed the eBay special recently. Hopefully this improves my coffee on my Barista Express. I find the grinder on it pretty frustrating.

Then we will see what we do about the machine as well :)

  • Just ordered the Mignon Specialita. Will be a nice upgrade to my old Rancilio Rocky (which will now become a dedicated filter grinder). Price in title is wrong for this, it goes down to €295.76 after 15% off coupon, add €45 shipping for a total of $526.68 (Mastercard rate).

    • Do we need to pay and extra GST and Import Fee for this ? Im looking to buy Nuova Simonelli Oscar 2 from them, that will be over $1000 but just dont know how much i need to pay extra when cole to aus.

  • Was this actually a deal? Coffee machine is same price despite expired deal.

    • Yes it is

      Beans > Grinder > Machine

    • Posting price in title was incorrect… 15% below that price during sale!
