Great deal, shame about the battery life though

  • Tempting, but battery life is a bummer
And with lte can i make it till dusk?

  • You can't just use your phone to reverse wireless charge or 3rd party wireless chargers, so yeah brace yourself for dead watch if you forget your charger

If the LTE version is at this price, surely we can see a $450 or less wifi only version.

    • Telstra only sells LTE version I think

My wife was looking at one of these, told her to steer away with the battery life.

My Galaxy 4 was beyond ordinary too. So much so I've now given up on smart watches for now.

An old S3 Frontier atleast got 3 days with me easily.

Charging a watch daily is rediculous. Charging it during the day is beyond insane.

Battery tech/efficiency needs to catch up big time before I ever look at going back.

For the cheaper smartwatch market, I'd suggest getting an Amazfit, otherwise Garmin stuff is also good but more expensive. I tend to avoid the Samsung/Apple watches due to their very short battery life.

Charging a watch daily is rediculous

Is argue that it's expected and even normal, especially if you've got AOD, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS all turned on all the time.

    • Daily yes, but to not get a full day is ridiculous. This watch is three year old tech, wait for gen 2.

      • Yeah a smartwatch should give full day use. Even my Ticwatch Pro can still manage to deliver on that.

    • It's expected because customers keep supporting such BS. That shouldn't be a thing.

I don't have AOD among other things turned on.

Asi said, my several year old S3 Frontier could last 2-3 days with an older battery.

  • I'm looking to replace my Fitbit Versa but the battery life seems to shocking on these that I'll probably just get a Fitbit Sense… these things should like more than 24 hours!

  • Telstra points value also seems to be reduced. E.g. 66,000 points + $312

  • Are they doing this instore? Have tried calling my local store but cant get through and not wanting to head out unless I need to! :)

  • Thanks OP. I'm hoping Pixel Watch 2 will be good enough, in hopefully a year's time. Apple Watch slowly got up to 2 days' battery and got fast charging a couple of years ago. I hope Google don't just abandon this like they did with Stadia, etc. Or if they do, they put the features they've removed from the Fitbit Sense and Versa lines back in.

  • I have the wifi pixel watch and the battery easily lasts out the day?? I charge it each night anyway but it usually has 45 - 50% battery left.
