Really good price. Got one for my bedroom a few years ago and it hasn’t missed a beat. Tempted for a second now but think it’s just a touch too small for the living room.

I have the 2000 and the replaceable filters are so expensive. There are 2 parts that needs replacing every now and then.

  • I am trying to find a filter without replaceable parts. Maybe there are some that filter through water like carpet wet vacuums?..

You want to throw the machine out once the filters are blocked?

      • I have updated the post. It needs to sift air through water. Or maybe have washable filters. I do not throw my Bissell carpet wet vacuum away every time I clean a carpet, and it does not have any replaceable filters there.

        • But the bissell isn't doing any filtering of the water/liquids.

An air filter using water for filtration sounds like a mould/pathogen nightmare to me.

A washable filter makes more sense, but I'm sure the effectiveness of the filtration would be hindered over time.

        • You can wash them, but it's not a good idea. The better ones will tend to have an outer layer that traps larger particles that can be separately cleaned. HEPA traps a lot of the target particulates by electrostatic means, which are quite difficult to dislodge once locked in. The carbon filter section in VOC filters is kinda similar - if these were easily dislodged particles under home conditions, it wouldn't work very well as something you could just run at room temperature with a fan blowing on it.

If the stuff that was meant to get trapped in these filters was efficient to trap by hydrophilic/hydrophobic action like an aquarium skimmer, it would be what we use for this problem, but they often aren't, so we don't.

    • Thanks. Got the 1000 last time and is great but takes too long to clear the living room. Getting the 2000 and moving the 1000 to smaller room.
