I bought one of these yesterday for my incoming 42" LG C2.
It's at the weight limit and larger than 34", but plenty of redditors seem to be OK with it. Had to buy a VESA bracket adapter too.

Let us know how it goes with the c2

I was looking at this thinking the exact same thing for my 42 LG C2. Reading from reddit and OzBargain discussions as well as the Amazon reviews which talk about monitors around the 9kg weight it appears that this LX variant works well. And it's a hefty increase in price going to the HX with its copper rings.

I am going to pull the trigger on this as I think its going to be fine based on everything I have read.

Also to note, a guy on Amazon reviewed this product and said at fully extended arm, at its highest is 47cm center of the VESA bracket. That would mean if you mounted an LG C2 42" on this arm, at full height center bracket, minus half of the TV's height which is 26.75cm, that would mean that the clearance from desk to bottom of TV fully extended on this arm would be around the 20cm mark for anyone interested.

Also remember you need to get a VESA bracket that supports 300 x 200 so you can connect the TV to your monitor arm.

I needed to work this out as I plan to get that discounted Samsung Soundbar for my PC setup (LOL) and enjoy OLED and ATMOS goodness. Hope it all works, wish me luck!

        EDIT

Some guy on reddit posted 2 months ago that he bought the HX with an HD pivot for his LG C2 and the pivot was too strong; he could not get the TV to angle or position correctly at all.

        • The HD pivot was designed for the 49" Ultra wide screens such as Samsung Odyssey G9, the curved screen plus the lower centre of gravity VESA mount will adds much more down-force hence require stronger pivot to support.

For 42" TV I reckon you won't need the HD pivot. I have the Xiaomi 34" wide screen mounted on the HX arm with the pivot that comes with it (overkill I know 😂). I am worry that the pivot on the LX is not strong enough to hold the tilt angle overtime.

          • @davidl820: Fair point, I will see how this LX arm goes and will let you know. But the real test is as time goes by and while it might be fine now who knows after 6 months.

The reddit posts I read about the LX working with a 42 C2 where two months ago and no updates but that is not a long enough time to confirm with certainty it will be fine in the long run.

  • Good arm. Personally own one and has been great. I've since replaced this with the tall pole version to stack 2 arms for a dual screen set up.

    • How big are your screens and how much clearance is there from the desk to the bottom of the lower screen? Looking at doing this with my 27inch monitors but think I need an extra tall pole about 800mm.

      • I'm using a 27-inch Apple Studio Display and the 23-inch LG 4K monitor (in vertical orientation, and left of the 27").

With the 27", I'm currently about 18cm from desk to bottom of screen. The 23" is about 5cm due to the nature of the vertical orientation.

If you're thinking of stacking the monitors on top of each other, you might want the tall pole.

  • I use this for my 34 MSI and 27 Dell - NB H180 Dual Monitor Desk Mount https://amzn.asia/d/ag4sjur $69 or single version $53 NB H100 Monitor Desk Mount https://amzn.asia/d/2geDrjR

I have not seen any movement at all with the weight of my 34"

    • I've got the same one for my 32" Dell and am finding that it's starts to drop at certain angles. Decided to invest in a more stable monitor arm as I move the monitor a lot

White not available with deal? :(

    • Doesn't seem like it

  • cmon HX deal. i need some arms for my 38 inch monitor

    • +1

I noticed it's $359 at Aus PC Market with free shipping. Beats $400 on Amazon if that helps.

      • very tempting, i have quite a bit of amazon credits banked up. would prefer to use them before forking more cash out. might ask if they can price match

Just bought one of these, came to like $140 with shipping and it's currently holding my 42" C2. Works like a charm and cheap.

      • woah, hows that work? did you just take a risk with the sizing of monitors? it says hand up to 35''

        • Yeah, just took a punt. Like the things on an arm, and can go up and down, it should fit. The sizings are all crap anyway, it's more the weight that is a factor.

After looking closer, most arms come from a similar factory, and it looked identical to one on Amazon that had rave reviews for half the price.

          • @appxl: do you have a stand up desk? i wonder if it wobbles or moves a lot when you move up and down

            • @PreSsieGuY: I do - and no it doesn't wobble on the way up or down. I don't have it reached out when I raise and lower though.

Honestly, this is a banger of an arm.

    • That's exactly the same except that it doesn't have 10yr warranty from Ergotron

    • +1

I think it's the same but with the Amazon branding and without the warranty

    • That arm can get much cheaper. Remember it being $120 before.

  • This or Dell MSA20 for $148?

  • I've had one of these on my desk for about 4 years now. At first it was holding an iMac Pro pretty well. Now it's got a 34" Xiaomi monitor on it. No complaints.

I have this exact arm the Ergotron LX model. It was $130 + $XX shipping from Amazon UK via Amazon AU with only 1 left.
I contacted them and asked them to waive the international shipping because it was over $49 and I was on Prime.
    CS agreed and I purchased.
Waited over 4 weeks though for them to ship. Seems like they wanted me to cancel because I saw it go back in stock twice during the 4 weeks with no update to tracking.

    My review of the arm.
Solid. The base is large and spread over a large area which is what you want. Holds my 32 inch monitor with ease it was probably overkill but I wanted stability.
I just tapped on my non standing desk with my fist and there is little to no movement. It literally moves a mm and stops within half a second, it is rock solid.
The only tricky part is the titling motion of the monitor. It is really tight so it needs some strength and also best if you push the monitor back otherwise you might be putting all that strength onto the actual arm and pole which is not what you want. I guess tighter is better than looser, in the case of a really heavy monitor you don't want the monitor to tilt down on it's own due to the weight.

If I could give this arm 11/10 I would. It is very well built especially where it matters. Also a tip for those with thinner or laminate desks, put a wedge of wood under the desk in the clamp to give it that extra stability and strength. I just used a brick shaped piece of wood I had.

Edit: One tip I forgot to mention. DO NOT over tighten the tiny hex screw that is on the first opening that goes onto the pole. I tightened this screw too tight the first time and it dug through a tiny circle in the powder coat paint on the pole and exposed the metal. I regretted this because after maybe 15 to 20 years that will be the starting point of rust. You don't need to tighten this hex screw at all if you are ok with the first part of the arm being movable which is what I ended up wanting anyway.
