Wouldn’t you be better off getting a physical copy around the same price and selling it when you’re finished with it?

Yep, no way would I ever buy stuff from the online store unless it was absolutely dirt cheap. There is a history of these stores shutting down and you losing access to what you paid for.

Better to buy physical copies for consoles. Digital works for PC because you can always sail the seas if they try and take it off you.

Never lost access to anything I've purchased on Wii U, 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS….. Maybe 1 exception on 360 but I can't recall the title, I know it was 100% removed.

Sure sometimes it can be a little annoying to recover things though….

Discs, cartridges and the like don't last forever either.

Nor will games that require updates anyway.

        Nothing is forever.

      You do that.

Digital owners can share it on 2 consoles. Simultaneously.

Why does every digital deal have to get shat on by people who aren't interested in it? Do digital buyers spam physical deals? No.

      • I wasn’t shitting on the deal, I was just curious as to why you would go digital over physical. You answered my question, so thanks.

Sorry not you. More just a general thing.

Regardless, there's huge benefits for digital.

          I have a 5yo. I use a Lite and OLED. I don't like clutter, she likes misplacing things….

None of these are issues for me. I get 2 copies of every game. Cheaper than launch physical prices with vouchers too.

        • For me I just hate having to constantly swap games on any console, especially the Switch though since I have to take it out of it's dock where it lives in my TV cabinet 100% of the time, then peel back the little flappy cartridge thing with some object (I lack nails 😕)

Sounds petty I know; but when you're on a daily rotation of constantly playing a schedule of things like Fitness Boxing or Ring Fit Adventure it gets annoying fast, and I'd much rather have at most 1 physical game inserted, and the rest playable from my home screen whenever I want.

I have a ton of physical games and honestly it sounds silly but I play digital games more simply for the fact I don't have to change discs.
So absolutely physical games for re-sell value but you can't ignore the convenience of digital..

A great example is something like Mario Kart. It's a staple. Why would you sell it? How useful is it when you can play it at all times?

I have zero interest in selling Nintendo 1st party games. That's predominantly what I purchase anyway, atleast as far as pricier titles go anyway… Who gives a crap about resale for a random indie at $5-15… Some of those physically are collectors items too with absurd pricing or limited runs

      • How do you share a digital copy with another switch?

        • +1

Can't recall Nintendo's term. Believe it's primary console and secondary. Sony and MS do similar things.

One has to be online with the correct owner. Other can be offline with any user.

    • Each to their own I guess, I got a new switch and I wanted any copy I could find that wasn't the usual price :)

i like paying games and hoarding them all thanks to steam sales

edit: im lazy and want to carry less
