  • For a sec I thought this was for cleaning wheely bins.

    • A bit overkill, as I'm sure some vinegar and elbow grease would do the same job.

No way overkill! This is how Wheel cleaners should be.
These kinds of wheel detail cleaners have an iron remover solvent that helps remove brake dust. That's why after application you see that purple colour, which means the iron particles/contaminants are being removed from the wheel.

This method has come from general detailing from cars, when they use iron removers on the panels on cars when removing iron as a decontamination process before detailing the car with a machine polisher.

I meant it would be overkill for cleaning wheely bins.

        • @Moonyang Gee, that one wheely flew right over your head didn’t it!

this is the only Bowden product that I dislike. i ended up using meguiars wheel and tyre cleaner.

with this product you let it set then rinse with water. doesn't remove all the grime. you are better off with a wheel and tyre cleaner. Use a brush to scrub the tires and wheels. you will definitely see better results!

edit : if you do end up using my advice please make sure you use a separate brush for the tires and wheels to avoid potential scratches!

    • Yep. I gave away a 3/4 full bottle. Dan lost me on this one!

      • I find it works great if you do a deep clean of the wheels, with another wheel cleaner, and use Wheely Clean during subsequent washes.

        • My (cared about) car's wheels are ceramic coated. So a snow foam and rinse, plus a wash and a just a little elbow grease usually cleans them up pretty easy.

          • @Snoop: I duno if ok doing it wrong.

My wheels are ceramic coated but it's still alot of effort to get then cleaned…

Wheely clean, a scrub and pressure wash still leaves lots of residue on the wheels.

Of course if I spent enough time I could get them clean but I thought it would be a breeze with the ceramic coating (Ie. Literally pressure wash off).
