Amazing deal. $800 delivered with eBay plus. It’s the Udm se, not Udm pro. Udm SE is SExy.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

  • SExy? I think it's alright 🤣

+$100 than UDM Pro is acceptable. +$200 is a bit too much I think based on the new features and the same processing specs. But if this is the only device in the rack then it's alright.

I guess the new batch of Ubiquiti equipment finally arrived Australia. Almost all models are available across UniFi family now from various retailers.

Also worth keeping in mind is software-based features. UDMP is still on 1.x of the Unifi OS. The SE has just had RC for 3.x drop and it'll likely be official in the next month. Ubiquiti have been saying for a long time now that the UDMP will be upgraded to the 2.x branch but there's been no word on when.

It's a fairly classic Ubiquiti move but worth keeping in mind if you are in the market for a device as the SE is getting the new and shiny features.

      • What!? My CKG2P is even running OS 2.x.

That would make a difference for sure.

        • Yeah it's ridiculous but completely par for the course when it comes to Ubiquiti.

Been a bit (~$50) cheaper on the past few recent deals.

I have been waiting for this unit and was disappointed to find out most shops hiked up the price during black Friday week so we didn't actually get a bargain for the dream machine special edition.

Fingers crossed for something on Cyber Monday. Doubtful, but hoping for it.

  • I nabbed one back in June for $939 - 20% ($732) from futu_online eBay store. Has been a good unit, runs two U6-LRs on POE

  • I bought one of these recently on another deal; I'm pleased with the performance and the interface.

I'm a little bit disappointed that it wants to fit my networking rack perfectly, though, because it means the power cable at the back stops it from sitting flush and being screwed in. I'll need to come up with another solution for that.

But it works - almost too well. It's scary how much traffic it can identify from clients in the stats, and it certainly makes me think twice about enabling VPN on networks that aren't my own.
