        Still playing through Arceus myself, picked it up a couple months back when it was on sale at EB. Really enjoying it and keen to start Violet soon.

        I personally haven't enjoyed Pokemon games since the old Gameboy days so playing this has been a bit of a blast from the past.

      This is indeed better. Got the amazon preorder for Scarlet but this deal is indeed better. Was thinking about getting Violet too but there are so many bad reviews on technical issues

    I was tempted to get Splatoon 3 but I’m not playing physical games as much as I play digital ones so decided not to. I would love to see digital games get discounted like this.

        No one is denying there’s fun to be had here. It’s the technical issues that a game of this calibre & worldwide brand profile, unequivocally should not have.

        I hope/assume it’ll be fixed in a patch - but GameFreak/Nintendo should be doing better

          I'm honestly interested as to why people blame Nintendo in these sorts of matters, Nintendo only owns half of the brand, they don't even make the Pokemon games. It's all up to Game Freak to do that and technically Game Freak is a 3rd party developer so they don't have all the resources to optimize their games like games made by Nintendo would have.

          I'm not saying to blame Game Freak either, after all the speed that they release mainstream Pokemon games is uncanny and if they were late to announce a new game, the fans go batshit crazy. Example is when the Switch was announced and the Direct following didn't announce a mainstream Pokemon game, people were just absolutely bashing on Game Freak and Nintendo for giving them nothing, which forced the Pokemon company to release a short video saying they were making a new game for the Switch with no game footage.

          Issues are just going to happen with the new Pokemon games, it just can't be helped. Less than 3 years to make a new game + pressure from the fans + not having all the proper resources + wanting to try new things + limited specs = a game with flaws.

              @spedohero: That's mainly because Nintendo owns half of the IP. And since Nintendo's main revenue is from the games they pay to get made, the price just won't drop.

              Just take a look at Little Town Hero and it's price, as long as Nintendo didn't pay for it to be made, it's not going to cost that much.

            @WinterStar: Gotta disagree. Game Freak keep releasing trash because it still sells. Nintendo doesn't really care - pokemon is still their trump card. Game Freak make a ton in sales - there is no reason they can't bring in more resources.
            The Pokemon IP is not struggling in any way. They are just putting in the least effort possible for maximum return.
            Tbh they need to give the rights to another developer.

              @cyrax83: If Nintendo didn't care, then why would they start from scratch with BotW and Metroid Prime 4? They care deeply about their games, mainly because that's what their main revenue is and in the end it affects the public opinion, that's why Nintendo was so child friendly over in the West. Though now they're even less child friendly than Sony is.

              And before you start pissing on Game Freak, please do understand, they are severely low on staff. It's pretty obvious, their work speed is crazy for someone that wants to enter the gaming industry and even if someone new joined, they'd have to spare some of their developers just to teach the new people. They're bound to cut corners just to make the deadline, yet again why I say the speed they release games is uncanny.
              Whose decision it was to release a new mainline game every 3 years in November I have no clue, but it's obvious they can't keep up making these new games while trying to test new ideas, especially not with modern gamer standards. If they were making Pokemon games in 2D again, I can bet they'd be able to make quality games again, like Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl but because everyone now wants amazing graphics, amazing performance and amazing story, sub 3 year game development is just not nearly enough time.

              Sure another developer would be great, but the the issue goes to who and can they produce it in enough time to satisfy the fans. And that's where the main issue is, the fans. Whether the people actually bashing the developers are fans or not doesn't really matter, in the end they get grouped up as the 'fans' and because of that, the developers are forced to get it out fast and on time.

              Ever since the Sword/Shield debacle, I've just been trying to get people to understand that Game Freak needs more time to develop their games but people always seem too angry with either Game Freak or Nintendo to really listen.

    I missed out on Splatoon since my payment failed (needed to add funds) and when I went to redo the purchase eBay told me "you've already used this code". Customer support was useless too
