    Thanks OP

Does anyone know if I can purchase another Sim with the same ID, seperate deal and still get cashback?

  • +1

Expires 29 nov. No bonus data

    • +1

That's the cashback offer (probably as the $50 discount on the $300 sim will end then. The actual sim expiry is probably sometime late next year from experience. However, SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering for cashback to occur (so total cost $205).

I've got ~60 days left on my current sim so tempted but not sure - might hold out for boxing day sales may fit my timeline better.

      • So basically if I purchase the SIM on 29th, and probably receive it around 2 Dec, I have until 29 December to activate it?

Works well for me, as my Boost data allowance is all gone now. Wifi went out without noticing and streamed a little too much.

    • What's the data usually?

  • Can anyone please tell me what the deal is with joining Boost again after my current 12 month SIM plan ends, can I use this as an existing customer or do I need to port off Telstra/Boost network first and if so how long ? Thanks

    • +3

You are not supposed to be able to use this as an existing customer, but sometimes you can contact a boost rep & they will manually activate/transfer your service for you.

Its a lot of hassle though, easier is to buy some cheap non telstra/boost sim, transfer out for a day then activate the new sim to transfer back.

      • thanks !

      • Do you have to wait a day? Can you just do it within the time you switch and activate on boost?

        • +1

You don't have to, but there have been stories of porting in & out immediately causing dramas with their backend systems as your old data hasn't been flushed yet. Never happened to me, but I always wait. The temp Sim usually has some data to burn anyway so why not use it.

If the idea is to avoid having to call their support staff, best to just give it a day or 2 to clear.

          • @mitt: Oic, what temp sim do you port out to and how much data is there to use for 24 hours?

            • +1

@Bangerbargain: Right now the kogan unidays deal is the best option, but you need a unidays account. $1 for 30gig, 30 days to use.

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/721380

Otherwise coles/woolies sometimes have lebara/amaysim sims on for $5 or so.

7-11 has an amaysim 8gb sim for $6 via their app right now.

      • Actually it's very fast. All you have to do is talk to the support. Tell them you purchased a starter kit by mistake because you saw the low discount and jumped in quick and if it's possible to recharge using this. They'll ask you to activate the sim and contact them back so they can transfer the new number to your old one. And that's it. While you're explaining your story, you may also add that this store has no refund policy on this product.

Picked up the Coles 365 days $99 for 120GB plus I got my $10 Flybuys discount at my local store checkout.

    • +1

But this is 260gb on Telstra

    • +5

Oh damn that sucks. Can you return it?

      • -3

        Why would it suck fool?

        • Because if you wanted to get anything below Telstra full network, why not get the Woolies 365 for $130 with 100gb, then use the 10% off each month to claim at least $10 to make it mostly free.

          • -1

@onlinepred: I don't shop at Woolies only Coles don't like Woolies plus I get $10 off every Coles shop with FlyBuys. Every shop not just a month. The Coles offer is $99 with 120GB how is it better? I actually got it for $89.

    • Flybuys discount from redeem 2000 points?

  • Is there any activation deadline for this Sim?

    • +2

to get cashback you'd need to activate within 30 days.

  • -2

Vodafone deal at costco is much cheaper and gives same data.

    • +6

      But not the same network.

    • And Vodafone is absolute garbage.

      • +1

It depends where you are. I dont think it is fair to sum up in one sentence.

  • Must be activated before 28.11.22 for bonus data?

  • I'm new to cashrewards, says the estimated approval isn't until next march, whats it like more realistically? once I activate the SIM?

Also it's not showing the referral bonus (used a link from here), does it show up after my first purchase has been approved?

    • sim needs to be activated within 30 days of purchase - yeh sometimes the approval dates are quite far away. The more you use cashrewards the less you notice it. I tend to do like a quarterly withdraw :-)

      • hey thanks for the reply

do you know why the referral bonus might not be showing up yet?

  • Can I receive sms while travelling internationally with Boost?

    • Hi! Yes, you can. With our international roaming now active, you can use Boost in 40 countries. Check this page for more info https://boost.com.au/pages/international-roaming

      • Can you receive them without the purchase of a data pack?

  • Can I port my number to boost if I'm already with Telstra prepaid?

  • Yes i ported a few weeks ago from telstra pre paid.

    • I though it wasn't possible.

      • Quite possible.

        • Normal process ?

          • @Deal-Sniper: Download boost app. Login. Activate sim? Not sure what you mean?

            • @jzcykd: I had also read this might not work but i had no issues. Leave telstra sim in until boost sends activation text. Took less than half an hour. Its weird you keep your telstra id and its now called your boost id.

  • Messaged their support this morning. The data you get is 240GB + 20GB extra promo data. You can get the extra 20GB if you order it within the promotional period and message them. They can apply it manually.
