It’s a long running deal with UNIDAYS based on this previous deal

  • Good that Kogan has Esim option

    • +1

Can we switch to eSIM using this plan?

      • +1

This plan has no esim option.

      • +1

Yes, you can. I did it two months ago.

        • Did you switch later or could choose from beginning? Any cost?

          • +1

@Newgod: I switched after ported in and free of charge.

            • @jimojr: I lost my physical sim and they converted me to esim for free

              Took 72 hours

  • be careful with “on-going” 12-month cost of $20/m

    • Absolutely

At least its every 30 days. Most pre-paid mobile providers now billing every 28 days….

    • +3

You can delete your credit card and cancel auto-top straight away

  • +2

********Don't forget to cancel auto recharge in the account panel.********

    • +1

Don't forget to cancel auto recharge in the account panel

  • +2

Make sure you check your payment method/auto pay status on the kogan mobile website close to end of 30 days. I have cancelled and sometimes it has been reactivated by kogan. In all fairness to them they do refund with little grief but its kinda scummy that it happens in the first place…

  • How do I get unidays account?

  • +2

i've not had a problem with cancelling auto-recharge from kogan but if you're really paranoid, you can use the single-use zip pay card for the initlal purchase and you won't have to worry about them charging you after 30 days

    • +1

      Exactly what I do

      • +1

i also sign up for kogan first in the same transaction. i've found that even when it's supposed to expire, it'll still be active for a couple more days while they're trying to charge the card to no avail

  • can this be used as recharge?

    • +1

      i DONT THINK SO

      • aCTUALLY YES YOU CAN

  • Expiry on the sim?

    • +1

At least 12 months, but the voucher expires on 30/11/2022.

  • Is it safe to signup using that university portal? It grants them access to your course material right?

    • Safe yes.
Grants access to course materials No

  • Dam I bought one of the $2.90 simcards last week from Kogan. There goes my September budget.

  • Still got like 5 from last time i haven't used lol

  • Anyone confirm if it is actually 20GB upon activation despite its saying 30GB?

    • I activated one from the feb deal just now and its 20gb

      • So was yours via Uniday's deal or other Kogan's $1 deal? Mine was the latter with 20GB. Just wonder if Uniday's $1 deal (30GB) is really 30GB or 20GB upon activation.

        • +1

When I activated last month it was 20gb upon activation and bonus 20gb after activating and I bought it when the UNIDAYS codes were generic

Still have 4 recharge vouchers left

          • @BargainsGrabber: Thanks for your info.

          • @BargainsGrabber: Can you use the recharge voucher to recharge an existing account?

            • +1
              • @TheCandyMan2020: That is good to know, thank you.

              • @TheCandyMan2020: Hi thanks for posting, I have 2 questions

                1) if I currently am with Kogan mobile on 90 day large plan and have 2 months remaining, will this add and top up to make it 3 months Kogan mobile remaining or will it over right, take away the 2 months and just leave this 1 month? Which is useless

                And

                2) as stated from previous comments we can buy multiple, in that case if we bought 12 and recharged 12 on the one number do we have 12 months worth or no ?

                Thank you in advance

    • +1

I had one that says 20GB BUT once activated it updated to the correct 40GB

  • Like others have been getting I got 20GB when I activated. Next day another 20GB bonus data was added.

    • Same… until my most recent voucher activated on Sep 18. It only gave me 20GB.

      • UPDATE: I activated another sim yesterday and it just granted me the bonus 20GB today. So I guess the Sep 18 activation was an aberration.

        • activated a sim this morning didn't get any bonus data :(

          • +1

@wekimekigugudan: It sometimes takes 24hr to get added. I'm about to activate another tonight, I'll let you know how I go.

            • +1

@wavesgreen: received the bonus 20gb just now.

              • @wekimekigugudan: Hmm. It's now been over 24hrs since I activated mine and no bonus 20GB. Will see.

                • +1

@wavesgreen: did you get the bonus 20gb?

                  • @wekimekigugudan: Nope. So that's 2 out of my last 3 activations where I haven't got the bonus 20GB.

                  • @wekimekigugudan: i activated a sim last friday and got a text the next day telling me i've got a bonus 20gb

                    • @tdw: just activated another sim, hopefully the bonus will appear.

                      • @wekimekigugudan: Did you get the bonus 20GB?

I activated another one on Friday but no bonus as yet. So that's 3 out of my last 4 activations where I haven't got the bonus 20GB.

                        • @wavesgreen: the bonus 20gb was added the next morning.

                            • +1

                              @wavesgreen: not sure if it makes a difference;

always activate the sim after 8am during business hours, and don't disable auto-recharge until the bonus is added.

                              • @wekimekigugudan: Never had a problem before with dozens of activations but you might be on to something actually.

                                My last four activations:

Sep 18, after hours - No bonus.
Sep 23, business hours - Bonus!
Oct 5, after hours - No bonus.
Oct 13, after hours - No bonus.

                                • @wavesgreen: i've only activated one so far…it was during business hours and got the extra data.

                                  • @tdw: I've activated two this month, on different weekdays both during office hours. One got the bonus, one didn't. So I give up on trying to figure it out haha.

                              • @wekimekigugudan: I've activated on weekends and disabled recharge immediately and have still got the 20GB bonus.

  • if you click on OP link and then go to myunidays. You can buy 2 kogan sim for $2

  • I put my code in but keeps saying invalid discount code

    • Same here
      Might be dead

  • I was using codes from an older version of this deal, getting invalid code on every attempt now.

    Did they can it?

  • Still works!!

  • -1

They no longer let you use your own number with this deal. You can only use it with a brand new number. Just spoke to them after trying!

  • The Uniday's discount code is having an error - invalid. Contacted Kogan Mobile support who said the offer is valid until 31Dec2022. They ask me to contact Kogan.com.au support (not Kogan Mobile support). Voucher may be valid until the end of this year but the deal may be dead… I tried to Kogan.com.au but they don't have call number only email support.

    • Still works for me.

  • Thanks OP. For everyone having trouble redeeming their code, you need to be logged into Kogan first.

    • Can you please elaborate on your advice - step by step? (as opposed to my steps I've done).
      1. Click the link in this deal page which is opening https://www.koganmobile.com.au/plans/unidays/
      2. Click 'Login' - this is a Unidays portal login. and I logged into Unidays Kogan Mobile offer page.
      3. Generate a discount code under Unidays Kogan Mobile offer page
      4. Under this page, there is a link to go to Kogan site (not Mobile) to purchase this prepaid sim card. I tried to use a discount code generated during step 3, which is having an error.

Where (which step above) and how I should follow your comment of 'log in Kogan first'. Please note that during the step above, I am directed to Kogan mobile site, not Kogan site so please specify Kogan mobile site and Kogan.com.au sites.

    • I eventually figured out how to resolve this error. As you said, I had to log in 'Kogan.com.au' site prior to purchase this Unidays Kogan mobile offer. The Unidays Offer page to jump to Kogan mobile offer says 'Enter this code in the promotional code area during checkout in order to get 30GB of data for $1. To activate the UNiDAYS student discount code, students must login to Kogan prior to checkout.'
So I logged in to Kogan.com.au prior then applied the discount code and it worked.

All good but comment from markymarkr indicates that this sim voucher cannot be used to an existing Kogan mobile account, which is shame - never mind still great value.

  • Thanks ported from boost this morning, it took 4 minutes from "your port has been initiated" until "SOS Only" on the boost sim. super!

  • no bonus 20GB anymore it seems :(

tried a few in the past week. None received the bonus data. So it is pretty much only 20GB

    • I don't think I'll use all of mine from the last deal. I guess I should work out how many I'll use then sell off the spares so some people can get 40GB instead of 30, lol. Oh wait, they'll need to have blank SIMs already… otherwise it's going to cost them $2 for the blank SIM.

Hm… Someone is already selling one.

  • Do you only get one SIM per account?
Or only one SIM per code?
    Or multiple SIMs per account/code?
Or do you have to buy one, then wait for the code to change to buy a second, third, etc?

(Trying to decide if it's worth signing up some course.)

    • It's currently only one SIM per code.

But you can use (hypothetically) unlimited codes per account.

  • +1

Removing my message, ok… but it's unfair to delete angelkulit025's post when he was asking for help with this deal, just because I replied to him offering a different solution. Especially when at least three other people asked the very same question:

    • Removed the rest of posts. Thanks for letting us know.

Any requests, selling, buying etc. belongs in the classifieds and NOT in the comments section.

  • Mine says, the voucher is invalid, is that because I was with Koga recently?

    • was told you need a 30 day period between porting out and porting back in.

  • The physical sims are sold out?

  • seems like the deal has gone… after login the unidays says "We couldn't find the page you requested." so cannot find the prepaid plan…

  • It still works. The URL Link at the title still goes to Kogan Uniday's URL then jumps to Kogan SIM purchase site. You just need to log in to Kogan site when you process promotion code to make it work. I purchased it just now.

  • Do I need to download the UniDays all for this? The 40gb monthly plan with physical SIM is showing as $2 for me.

    • +2

This is Ozbargain. People here regularly do more than that to save $1

      • +1

Whoops - I meant "app" not "all"!

  • +1

Can anybody be kind enough to send me a code please?

  • +1

Hi, would appreciate if someone could share a code. Thanks

  • Has anyone bought a voucher this month? What's the voucher expiry date please?

    • +1

      Update. I just bought one.
      Expiry is 31/12/2022.

  • Is this expired now? Sims are out of stock and I believe Kogan has changed their plans/sim structure.

    • Still available!!

  • +2

I logged into Unidays first, then the link was not valid.

Then login to Unidays, clicked Technology-Mobile. Then clicked on the promo. Then clicked 'get now'. Then clicked Reveal Code. Copied code. Then Launch Webiste. Then logged into Kogan.com

    Good luck!

    • Weird, that order of steps worked. Thanks for the quick tutorial! Cheers Karmduit, happy holidays :)

      • Yay! You too!

    • After logging in, are you guys still able to remove your bank card under "Payment Methods"? (Can you still see it, or has it disappeared?)

      • Yes, you can remove payment methods. I activated a sim in the first week of december using a voucher bought last month and straight away removed payment details after logging in.

        • Hm, ok thanks. That might be on the borderline. I think it only changed a couple of weeks ago in the other Kogan thread. Anyone bought on in the last 10 days or so?
