  Is the monster box the same game, worth the extra? Anyone know what is the difference?

    That 'new edition' is actually pretty old. It's the second edition which was released in 2011.

    The monster box was released last year and includes everything in the second edition + a couple of expansions (Power Up and Halloween) which add some extra variety to the game. Definitely worth the extra $10 for the extra stuff since it's worth maybe $40 or more to buy separately if you end up wanting it.

  Just watched a quick video and it has two expansions plus additional parts. Says you'd be disappointed if you purchased the base game instead.

    The base game is great for new board game players. A perfect gateway game. It's quite luck orientated, but generally good fun if it's taken lightly.
    The expansions add much more depth and choice. I especially like the "Even More Wicked" expansion as it gives you reason to roll the 111 and 222. It's a shame it wasn't included.
    I think this big box would provide a good whack of fun for most types of players, which is why I'm picking it up.

  Fun game! It's basically yahtzee with some extra rules - like attacking other monsters (players) - to be the last one standing or the first one to 20 points.

  If you think you'll like it and play it a bunch, the Monster Box is great value. Even just the extra variety in monsters is fun.
  Also +1 on the recommendation for the Even More Wicked module which makes going for lower dice numbers a valid tactic to power up your monster. Makes rolling 1s and 2s less feel bad :)
