My tracking says "No one was home to hand over your parcel to our courier when we tried to pick it up." That's the only tracking event registered in Melbourne. I'm in regional vic. WTF?

  • +1

My tracking hasn't changed from the first entry on the 6th being 'Scheduled for pickup'

    • Yeah, my only entry (Couriers Please delivering to Sydney) is "shipping information received" on 6-Dec. I wonder if anyone with a courier tracking number has had their order cancelled? I assume they're already on the hook to pay for the courier at that point.

      • Oh just this morning mine has updated to pickup scheduled for today (via Sendle). Let's see how that goes.

        • It didn't go….

          • @Hinee: Update when you get it (if)

            • +1

@when2buy: Received this morning in Brisbane via Sendle :)

  • +1

Received an email this afternoon advising they are unable to arrange delivery to my location, Tassie.
Very poor form. They should have worked this out two weeks ago.
    Avoid!

    • sorry to hear that mate. gutted for ya.

    • Should we still avoid them if we don't live in Tassie? Because that sounds like a strange thing to do.

  • +1

Got mine yesterday.. Came via Couriers Please, surprised it arrived at all after previous experience with this courier..

  • Still no update to tracking here, Newcastle NSW

  • Status till yesterday: "Parcel has been scheduled for pickup on Tuesday 13th December."
Status today: "Parcel has been scheduled for pickup."
    I have a bad feeling…

    • +1

I'm in the same boat. I've sent them an email with no response. I've just now been chatting with Sendle and they advise they attempted pickup on both the 7th & 13th but the items weren't ready for pickup. They're probably still brewing our cartons!

      • Great that you managed to get a response! Mine's just been updated to the 15th, there's still hope we won't be thirsty over chrissy.

  • +2

They should have notified everyone that it will take approximately 3 weeks for the beers to arrive.

Communication is essential when dealing with customers.

I'm still waiting on my delivery.

  • Looking more promising, I now have "parcel has been picked up by one of our couriers" on the tracking.

Could be a competition between this and the Four Pines eBay deal to see who takes longest with delivery!

  • Some bad reviews for them starting to appear on Google:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=exit+brewing&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-…

Definitely a business that I wont (even attempt to) purchase from again.

    • +3

It's annoying to get a good deal cancelled, but people leaving reviews saying it is fraud or a scam are over reacting.

      • +2

I concur. Totally off the deep end. Things happen. They are an independent brewery who make great beer. They can't be held to ransom money because their logistics partner won't do business.
I'd hope no OZB reviews are there. I'll be less inclined to share deals if that's the entitled vitriol that spews out from my sharing.

    • +1

Finally yesterday, Exit replied to a bad Google review, explaining what the issue is!

"The courier company … has been refusing to collect consignments for two weeks now."

How could Exit allow this situation to develop & not resolve it promptly?

Why wasn't that communicated to customers weeks ago??

Despite knowing there was a major delivery issue at that time…

Exit email 8/12 "If you have not received your Exit beer yet, don't worry! We are working around the clock to get your order in your hands ASAP. ".

Exit email 9/12 "Your order is on the way".
      No more updates.

Exit failed to reply to my enquiries about my delayed order.

Such poor communication, verging on deception!

Exit needs to keep customers informed of issues, not reassure them "Your order is on the way." when it wasn't!!
      Still not picked up!

Strange why Exit haven't cleared the backlog of orders by using other couriers. Rather than refunding or delaying. It could ruin their reputation & business.

It's vitally important for a business to maintain a good relationship with their partner businesses (which they need to stay in business) & their customers (to continue buying their product).

      Seems they're failing both!
Which indicates big problems with Exit.

So not unexpectedly - there will be criticism of Exit

      • -3

I dont believe that they ever intended to supply the products. All to easy to blame the courier. They made no effort to organise alternate shipping.

        I still haven't got a refund.

        • It sure seems like a convenient excuse. I've had deliveries from other breweries in the meantime with no issues.

        • What on earth would be in it for them to not supply given the crap they are copping here?

So much "waah, I didn't get my cheap beer".

  • +1

Ran out of beer yesterday😢 Still waiting!
Annoyingly it hasn't even been shipped!

Ordered 45 min after Deal posted Those milk stout currently show as available.
So Exit - what's the delay?

Received email on 9/12 "Your order is on the way. Track your shipment to see the delivery status."

    Tracking only shows:
Tracking Data submitted to carrier Dec 9 1:33pm with Couriers Please

    But "No Status Yet"
    ITEM NOT TRACKING?
If your item is not tracking, please contact the booking party to make sure the consignment labels are attached, and confirm if the item has been collected.

Exit hasn't replied! As others found.
    Tried again…

SHOP app showed "arriving today" for 2 days - so stayed home, but now shows "ready to ship"!

  • +1
  • We have collected your parcel from the sender and it is on its way to you.

    🏆

  • +1

Your parcel from Exit Brewing is on its way – here's your tracking link!

All's well that ends well :D

    -edit
I just looked at the Google reviews - you lot should be bloody ashamed of yourselves. One cancelled/delayed order and you decide to publicly shame a local business without really having any idea of the circumstances. Over entitled twats.

    • Received that email on 9/12. It was meaningless - hasn't even been picked up by courier 6 days later!!

      Without a bad Google review…
We wouldn't know the reason there is a serious delivery issue
"The courier company … has been refusing to collect consignments for two weeks now."!

Exit was not being completely open & honest with customers in their email 8/12 "If you have not received your Exit beer yet, don't worry! We are working around the clock to get your order in your hands ASAP."

      Such poor communication by Exit.

My 2 cartons - ordered within 45min of this Deal posting haven't even been picked up.
Exit hasn't replied to emails requesting an update!

      • +1

They're a small business though presumably answering emails between brewing, cleaning, etc. This isn't CUB. I'm sure they could do better but it sounds like they got OzBargained harder than they thought they would and couldn't handle it or placed too much trust in their couriers. Naive? Yes. Misleading? Unlikely.

        • +1

It's always unwise in business to overpromise & underdeliver. Unwise with smaller operations. As a business consultant - that was my advice.
Promotions without achievable limits - to ensure products can be delivered in a timely manner, can ruin reputations & businesses.

          • +1

@INFIDEL: Agree it is unwise which is why I don't understand the accusations that they never planned to deliver or that they're somehow being deceptive.

            • @delpy: Obviously those are false claims!
People post similar claims in Deals - due to the frustration of missing out.

Exit could have handled this much better:
By arranging other couriers when a delivery issue arose.
Been open & honest about issues as they arose, which would ease customer frustration.

That could have eased the load of enquires, and improved their reputation.

      • +3

This doesn't change the fact that reviewbombing them and calling them scams and frauds is deplorable behaviour.

        • I don't agree with their overreaction, but understand their frustration.

All's well that ends well :D

You've just got a message your order is ready to be picked up by couriers who Exit say aren't picking up.
It hasn't ended - that's why some are (overly) upset.

Exit hasn't been open & honest with customers.

Maybe your opinion will change due to the ongoing delivery delays. ..

          • +1

@INFIDEL: No, my order has been picked up today, hence my comment.

I've been on ozbargain long enough to have been through this same process many times. Clearly this small business was unprepared for the response to this deal (which has had 9,600 clickthroughs from here alone, not to mention their other customers) which is annoying, but I am not going to be put out one bit for not having a couple of cases of beer last week or next week. People are obviously allowed to be a little miffed from the lack of communication and delivery, my point has always been that the response from a select few is ridiculous and petty.

            • @Hinee:

No, my order has been picked up

As I said, I received the same message of order being sent 6 days ago.
Received messages it was to be delivered to Brisbane yesterday. Stayed home to collect it as alcohol was unlikely to be left otherwise.

Today it says ready to be picked up by courier at Exit! So don't count those chickens just yet!!

Sent 2 emails to Exit - No response.

Obviously those 1star reviews are based on false claims!
People post similar claims in Deals - due to the frustration of missing out.

If Exit was better at communicating any issues to customers, those reviews may have been avoided. (But some just love to complain.)

Exit only disclosed there had been no courier pickup for 2 weeks - due to those overstated grievances.
If the link wasn't posted above, we wouldn't have known. Not good customer relations!

            • @Hinee: Noticed you are fortunate in receiving your order from a different courier Sendie.
Hope you are enjoying your beer🍺

Seems from Exit email Couriers Please were refusing to pick up orders - including mine.

Exit finally decided after weeks of delay - to take orders to the depot!

They say they couldn't do anything about the problem But obviously could have resolved the issue much earlier.
A very bad PR exercise for Exit & a bad experience for customers!!

My beer has arrived at Brisbane airport this morning! Hope it is worth the wait…

  • +1

    I never received mine…

  • I just got an email saying it was picked up, wondered WTF was going on now see this thread. Dont expect it before Xmas.

  • My two cases were delivered today

    • As has been commented - delivery seems based more on proximity to brewery than time of order! Used their own van for some Melbourne orders.
So "faster" for Vic than most other locations.

  • +1

Its easy to take the orders but the delivery is just as important.

  • My delivery is now scheduled for the 22/12.

  • Finally received reply to emails asking where is my beer:

I apologise for the radio silence. We have been chasing our tails chasing couriers, trying to get them to collect orders. Unfortunately Couriers Please let us down completely. The driver continually refused to collect, so after 2 weeks of pleading, we packed up 4 pallets of orders and dropped them at the depot. Your order is now happily on its way.

[screenshot of my order - estimated arrival 23/12]

We are very sorry for this horrendous service and assure you we have done everything we possibly could to make it better. We have never experienced anything like it ourselves.

Wishing you and yours a very merry festive season.
    Cheers,
    Monica

Tracking had showed "No Status" since email on 9/12 - that order is on its way. But was never processed by courier. Couriers Please would not investigate unless Exit confirmed it had been picked up!

Tracking now shows arrived at sorting centre in Brisbane this morning.

Ran out of beer a week ago. Ordered a carton last night - delivered free from CUB on Catch, using code ONEPASS30 for $30 off $60. A more certain 50% off, more promptly delivered - but on a lesser beer.

The delay & lack of communication has left a sour taste in the mouth before even tasting the beer.

    • I got a 23rd eta also for North Brissy. That will be a 25 day turnaround.
I hope the "milk" stout hasn't gone bad.

      • 😊 Also ordered the milk stout.
        Really wanting to try it!
Hope the long wait was worth it.
        Enjoy🍺

      • Arrived today in BNE. BBD 27/6/23

  • +1

Got my beers delivered to my workplace on Friday, my workmates thought it was a christmas gift left by a supplier and took them home and drank them. My christmas grog dreams in tatters :(

  • This is the status of my delivery.

    Date Description Location Status
2022-12-09 16:10:34 N/A Melbourne No one was home to hand over your parcel to our courier when we tried to pick it up.
2022-12-13 13:23:52 Picked up Melbourne Your parcel has been picked up by one of our couriers.

Based on the above, they are saying they attempted to pick up on the 9th and failed and tried again on the 13th. No updates since then…

Currently on the phone waiting to speak to someone at transdirect, might be a while…

  • Finally got mine. Best before in 2d on the milk stouts 21/12/2022)… pretty sure that wasn't advertised anywhere?

    • stouts like the milk stout will do no harm for the next year, if anything will smooth out even more.
BBD exist for items that definitely don't need it.

Hoppy IPA's etc, are best consumed within a few months, before the flavours slowly start to mull. Stouts are G2G :)

edit - i do agree shortdating should have been made loud and clear, however.

      • Cheers. I've ordered stouts close to (and past) the best-before in the past and actually have a few dark ale and stout homebrews under the house that I let age to see how good (or bad) they can get haha

All of this is irrelevant, though. Beers close to the best before are usually sold as such and marked down - not snuck out in a 50% off sale.

Bah - hopefully I'm happy after tasting them :)

        • I've paid full price (eek) for their milk stout in the past and it was just as good near BBD, and the deal was even more lactose sweet. :)

    • Checked mine and the milk stout and pale ale are both BB 06/2023.

  • +1

    Admittedly disappointed with Exit Brewing
    - Provided no email updates to affected customers
    - When emailing the company received a generic response blaming the courier company (but it looks like they attempted to pick up on the 9th and they weren't ready for them)
    - If I'm getting short dated beers, then this should have been advertised as the reason for the "50% sale"
    - Should have used a reputable courier company. I don't see how a package from Dandenong to the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne takes over a week.

    • +1

I forgot to mention that they were actually delivered to my neighbours house.

So they were delivered 21d after ordering, to the wrong house, with no label on them and the case of milk stouts is 2d from its best before date. Oh, and there appears to be dried spillage on those ancient milk stout cans… at least I'm hoping it's spillage and not rust.

I can hear the Fawlty Towers theme song playing in my head.

  • Beer arrived today in Brisbane👍
    BBD 27/7/23 on Milk Stout.

Waiting for the beer to chill, before deciding whether the order was worth the wait & frustration🤔

    • Congratulations!!!
I've got my front door open and feeling excited.

      • +1

Wait until you have it its milky goodness your mouth😉

    • Correction: BBD 27/6/23

  • +1

FWIW @lethalmoney was bang on. The milk stout drinks really well; damn near velvety perfection in a glass.

All is immediately forgiven. I'll likely order from them again!

    Cheers.

  • Got mine.
    BB: 27jun2023.

  • I ordered 2 cases of milk stout. Tried one but not to my liking. Happy for anyone who is still looking to have it. Pick up South east Melbourne by Friday 23 Dec. PM me for address!

  • Finally got mine a few days ago, the pale ale is underwhelming (literally every can froths up when opened) & I'm not sure yet about the milk stout. The 50% off price is about where they should sit. Probably wouldn't order again TBH, despite them blaming / having issues with couriers, both boxes show package date of July 2022 and BBD June 2023, so I can't work out why it took 3 weeks to send.

  • Pale ale finally arrived this morning. Will crack one open once it's chilled. No beer is worth 3 and half weeks wait, but hope it's at least better than average.

  • Still waiting here in WA. Last update was Parcel Arrived At Deopt on 16/12/22.

  • This has to be the worst shipping I have encountered in a while if even makes it here by 6th Jan. Tracking might as well be non existent. Will not be ordering again even if the beer is great

  • Still not received…

    • Same, still waiting.
