ShopBack Is Going to Refund The Remaining Value of Unused Deliveroo Gift Card

From their facebook page:

Say whatttttt?! We were surprised and frustrated to learn that Deliveroo had gone into voluntary administration. But don’t worry, ShopBack has your back.

We are proactively refunding ShopBack customers the remaining value of their unused Deliveroo gift cards purchased through ShopBack, less any Cashback amount earned, paid or pending.

The refund will be made through the original payment type to purchase the gift card. If your original payment method is still available, then there are no additional actions for you to take.

We will process the refund within the next two weeks. The refund may take up to 15 business days to reflect in your account, depending on your banks processing time.

If the original payment method is no longer available, you must contact us through the below link by 6.30pm AEDT on December 2nd, 2022.

After you follow the prompts, we will arrange a refund via Cashback on your ShopBack account. Unfortunately for security reasons, we cannot refund to another account or payment type.

  • Yea shoutouts to everyone who did chargebacks instead of being patient and waiting for ShopBack to comment officially.

    Forgot to add those same people who did chargebacks probably tried to abuse menulog promo also :)

    • Are you having a go at ppl for raising a charge back within their allowed time period instead of sitting back twiddling their thumbs, while wishing for something that they had no idea would come? Way to go. For you to be finding fault in that you must've had very little or no skin in the game.

    Does this mean we don't even need to make a claim? The refund will just come automatically?

    • I asked, was told to be processed within 15 days into the payment mode used at purchase.

    That’s a big hit they will be taking - hopefully their insurance will respond

    Not sure how big their margins are but this will put a dent on their bottom line/viability - besides their data breach which can happen to any company -they are just a click through easy part of a tranx

    All the hate towards these guys and cashrewards that I see by some ozb users is unreasonable

  • Received refund on unused credits that i had applied to the account but was sitting there at the time of the announcement so glad to see it not be entirely lost.

  • Probably late to the party :( but what about the Bonus Delivery gift cards that are sitting under Rewards tab (in app)?

    • You didn't pay for those so no refund is due.

    Is anyone else waiting for refunds? I haven't received my Shopback refunds.

  • Yep still waiting on mine. I got told to wait 15 business days after the 3rd Dec cut off. Still nothing.

  • To get a refund, ShopBack required us to redeem the cards in the app and take screenshots of the redemption. Now they are saying because the cards are redeemed I am ineligible for a refund because they've been redeemed. Very dishonest.

  • I was told via email that "any redeemed cards with a remaining balance or unredeemed cards with a full balance will be included in the refund." I've been in communication with Shopback since 12 Jan about my refund. A month later, they said they'd credited my original payment method December last year, so I had to send screenshots to prove otherwise. Now again waiting for them to hear back from their team. I mean, it's a nice gesture from Shopback to try to do this in the first place, I suppose.

  • Shopback is a joke.

    • submitted my claims for Deliveroo (haven’t got anything back)
    • submitted my credit card disrupt
    • Shopback disabled my account, saying I’m conducting a fraud. Like wtf?

    lucky I’ve withdraw everything, still have some in pending but it’s less than $100.

    Rule of thumb, withdraw all your fund from Shopback ASAP
