Thanks so much all for your ongoing patience with us here! I have an update for you all: To honour our valued customers, ShopBack will be proactively refunding the unused portion of any Deliveroo gift cards purchased through our platform.

The refund amount will be the unused portion that is not expired - as confirmed to us from Deliveroo - and less any Cashback amount that we already issued for the gift card.

The refund will be made through the original payment type to purchase the gift card. If your original payment method is still available, then there are no additional actions for you to take. We will process the refund within the next two weeks. The refund may take up to 15 business days to reflect in your account, depending on your bank’s processing time.

If the original payment method is no longer available, you must contact us via http://app.shopback.com/deliveroo_refund by 6.30pm AEDT on December 2nd. After you follow the prompts, we will arrange a refund via Cashback on your ShopBack account. Unfortunately for security reasons, we cannot refund to another account or payment type.

I cannot stress enough exactly how grateful we at ShopBack are for your time, patience, and faith in the fact that we’ve got your back. This has been a pretty unprecedented issue, so I am sincerely so thankful for the community’s response here. If you have any other queries about the process here, do reach out to our team at [email protected], they are more than happy to assist here.

Sorry that I couldn't link to the page for those seeking Cashback refunds, OzB won't let me link externally here in the comments!

      • So just to confirm, if I have any gift cards in the ShopBack app, I need to redeem them all in the Deliveroo App?

Then after Dec 2, Deliveroo will report the balance in credits to ShopBack and ShopBack will perform the refund minus any cashback already paid?

        • +3

Hi mate, to confirm, as we're getting this information from Deliveroo these cards no longer need to be added to the Deliveroo account to be accounted for. Apologies that the information and requests have changed a few times, we've been doing the best with what we had but through contact with Deliveroo we've been able to get a lot more details so are able to do so proactively!

Hope that helps answer the query there, but reach out here if you have any that you think will benefit others to be answered :)

          • +1

@gotyourback: @gotyourback, thanks for the update. Just to confirm the refund scenario…may be someone in same boat as us. I used part amount from cashback balance and remaining from CC (which is still active). I assume refund process will put the money in both accounts respectively?

            • +2

              @s0805: @s0805 That's correct mate.

            • +1

              @s0805: Great question…

lol I am here peddling the same boat as yours.

          • @gotyourback: Is there an easy way to find out how much cashback we have already received from ShopBack when buying Deliveroo vouchers in last 3 months?

In the App/Website it just says ShopBack Voucher, a reference number and an amount. It doesn't mention which store or gift card it was for so having a bit of a hard time trying to calculate this.

            • @JHoliday: Hmm yeah that's a tricky one, it's a little bit manual but if you head to the Purchases tab and go to your Order History (icon that looks like a stack of papers in the top right), you'll be able to go through each card you've purchased from each brand. If you tap on the card and scroll to the bottom it'll tell you the % of Cashback you earned on the card.

Obviously this will hurt you guys but I think you'll find that a huge part of the Ozbargain will remain very loyal to you by the way you've conducted yourselves on this matter.

      A job well done.

    • +5

You and the team have done an incredible job in very dire circumstances. Myself and many other Shopback customers really do appreciate all the work and consideration, thanks for helping us out.

      • +5

100% the way you guys have handled this has been amazing. Thanks, ShopBack team and huge call out to gotyouback… name checks out

        • +3

Throwing this love straight back out to you guys for your faith in me and the team at ShopBack, always happy to do whatever I can to help this community.

    • I got this email but it does not say how to go about getting the refund. So I have deliveroo gift cards in my shopback account so what to do now? Get the code and send it where? No details in that email

      • There was a previous email with a claim link that goes to Google form.

      • +3

Hey mate, we are proactively refunding now based on on some new info. This means that all users will receive their refund and no longer need to lodge their info with us!

        • How do I inform you guys that my credit card used to purchase it no longer works. I went to the chat but it wants me to send through all my Deliveroo GC codes. Is there a way I can notify you to refund to my SB balance directly? Thanks for prompt communication.

          • +2

@DrPotato: Hey mate, that ChatBot is the best way to notify us of this, we have the information for each code and by default will refund back to the original payment method, if you let us know the codes of the cards you have where that's not possible, we will provide the refund to your Cashback balance instead.

        • Thanks for that but you'll have no way of knowing how much of my gift card loaded to deliveroo is remaining right? I have submitted that info to shopback's help email address

          • @sub102: Hey mate, we've now got information from our end as well as Deliveroo's end about the remaining balance of cards in their system as well as unredeemed cards, so don't stress.

            • @gotyourback: hi @gotyourback
I havent contacted shopback about my unused deliveroo credit/gift cards yet. Based on your above comment, could you please confirm that I dont need to even let you know that I am affected? You'll be proactively refunding?

              • +4

@kazer: That's correct, these refunds are occurring proactively. No need to contact us about this unless you need to amend the refund method from original payment method to Cashback instead.

  • +1

    Thanks op

Btw they don’t do promo codes like Menulog and DoorDash, do they ?

  • +2

Currently $100 sold out but would pair well with $30 bonus gc with $200 deliveroo spend challenge

    • +1

How can it be sold out if the sale starts later today?

  • Only starting 6pm

  • +1

Haven't tried Deliveroo yet, but should be better than the Uber thief who robbed my money, literally.

    • +9

They all have their own issues..
For best value, take advantage of these promotions and place pickup orders at the restaurants that have same prices on these apps as they do in-store…

      • +6

Exactly. Don't use them unless they have promotion. Don't fall to their trap of getting used to it.

    • +7

BREAKING NEWS: Deliveroo cut out the middle-man and are the thief now.

      • +5

Came here to see what was going on. Glad I didn’t participate. What a joke.

  • +10

Deliveroo has no drivers and it's mainly fast food…

    • +5

      yep Deliveroo has gone downhill

    • +1

Pretty much the only food delivery service failed to deliver and the drive went missing lol

    • +6

I ordered a vegetarian meal, got sent meat. Complained to Deliveroo support, they told me they cant offer any compensation. Told them i wasn't happy and was going to leave a review warning others and they said, okay but we can't offer compensation.

      • +1

Did you contact the restaurant ?
If yes, what did the say ?

        • +2

I didn't. I guess i've just been used to Uber and others resolving or doing the leg work for me because im using their service.

      • +1

Why would deliveroo care if you left the restaurant a bad review?

        • The review i was referring to was for deliveroo, i was just trying to be brief in my comment without going into the details. I told them i'd leave a bad review about deliveroo warning others not to use their service because they dont take food preferences/accuracy seriously.

          • -1

@F-22: What you're describing has nothing to do with Deliveroo, The restaurant is responsible for your food order accuracy. Deliveroo are getting the food delivered to you. I can understand why they didn't offer you compensation.

            • +4

@Cunning JJ: If I order on UberEats or DoorDash and something is missing or incorrect, I report it on the app and get my account credited.

            • +2

@Cunning JJ: Na tbh that’s a big part of why these middle men (Deliveroo, Uber etc) exist, to bridge the gap between the restaurant and its consumers.
And providing customer service/problem resumption is a big part of it..

Having said that, if Deliveroo didn’t do it’s job, @F-22 should have contacted the restaurant directly as it was they who stuffed up their order in the first place.

              • +1

@Gervais fanboy: Yeah, I know I could have but the back and forth with deliveroo stretched out for a week and by that point I was over it and just decided not to use deliveroo any more.

              • +1

@Gervais fanboy: Side story, I ordered off uber once, received the wrong item. Called the restaurant to explain and they just told me to contact uber for a refund.

                • +1

                  @F-22: Hahaha
I had the opposite experience with Menulog, app asked me too many daft questions, I gave up and I called the restaurant directly. They sorted me out in seconds…
But I get you too, a lot of restaurants during service rush can’t be bothered dealing with these app issues.

                  • +1

@Gervais fanboy: I'm sure the experience changes all the time depending on the person and restaurant. No different to when you get different service between any stores i guess. The whole purpose of getting the food delivered is because you can't or don't want to pick it up. Most restaurants don't have a way to deliver which is why some want you to just go back to middle man, they just can't help unless you want to go down there which defeats the purpose of getting it delieverd in the first place.

            • @Cunning JJ: Never had any issues with uber or door dash resolving a complaint, only deliveroo. They literally get a cut from the restaurant to manage the process which is why it's in their interest to help.

            • +1

@Cunning JJ: These platforms all charge a service fee so I reckon they should provide some care in return for the money they take

              • @Chocobros: Yeah, just to be clear, I'm not expecting deliveroo to be out of pocket. I'm expecting deliveroo to resolve my issue by giving me a credit on what I paid them and then they can chase the restaurant for all I care. That's literally their model.

      • +1

Because of your comment I sm not getting deliverooo. They have lost.

        • I think their poor customer service may have saved you and I some money. If it weren't for the service i received recently i would have bought a bunch of these cards. Still not good for competition though, we may see less deals from uber and the likes.

    • You forgot "… in my area."

  • +3

Agree I gave up after orders cancelled. Suggest using credit asap.

  • Good value, but my location does not allow me to pick up, they always set to be delivered.

    • That’s strange
      What’s your postcode ?

  • +1

This will stack nicely with my Spend $200 get $30 back.

    Effectively 40% off

    • stack with coles mc gc +7.5%

    • Your what? Is that a ShopBack challenge or something?

    • Doesn't stack by the looks of it.

      • It does. Spent 150 and got 50 to go.

        • Yes you are right. It took a few minutes to update.

  • +5

Hey all, just want to call out in advance with this one that the cards with 25% Cashback will be available while stocks last. Once these cards are sold out, the rest will still be available at 20%, so if you're keen on 25% I'd jump on closer to 6pm when they are live.

    • Is it one per customer?

      • +3

Just double checked on this, the $100 cards at 25% are limited to 1 per customer to give more people a chance, but the cards at 20% will be unlimited.

    • Hey bud, will the $100 gift cards be added at some point today? Can't see them being available.

      • Did you read the post? 🤷‍♀️

I am sure he will given that is the deal.

      • +3

Yeah mate, they'll go live at 6pm. All denominations will be available then, but again 25% will only be avail on the $100 cards while stocks last.

        • +1

Hi mate, are you running $30 bonus gc with $200 deliveroo spend challenge promo? some ppl are talking about this.

          • +2

@Patrick D: Hmmm unsure, will need to check in with our team on this. It'll likely be targeted to a particular group of users if so, as I can't see it on my own account.

            • +2

@gotyourback: It's fairly old. Not a new targeted promo

1903 ppl participating and 192 activations

              Ends November 24th

          • @Patrick D: This works, just spent 2x$100 and got the $30 bonus gift card.

            • @damage: i cant find the promo :( only got $5 for $50 purchase

        • Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to getting it. Btw deliveroo is one that works for me quite well, so these gift cards are amazing value, so please keep bringing these.

  • I've had a horrible time with Deliveroo since activating Deliveroo Plus free w/Mastercard offer. Drivers repeatedly cancelling pickups. Deliveries taking over 1hr to arrive. Food cold - also the usual "We cannot provide compensation" responses, refusal to cancel order even when restaurant is closing and food sitting there almost 1hr waiting for driver. Are the drivers not being paid when delivering to Deliveroo Plus free delivery customers?? Their customer service are definately much lesser than Ubereats & Doordash. Many chats ended without resolution in middle of discussions. Attempt to reopen and get: "I see that my colleague has resolved your issue" then chat ended again without giving me a chance to say anything and ignoring the chat history. They just simply don't GAF about their customers these days. I stopped ordering after being a regular customer for 5+ years.

  • Is Deliveroo free delivery with plus? Tried to get McDonalds which was only 2km and they wanted 3.99 for delivery. I am on plus….

    • As far as I am aware the $12.99/m plan applies free delivery for orders $20+ and the $5.99/m plan is $40+

      • Mine was way over $20 and have the 12.99 plan.

        • +1

McDonald's does not participate in the free dlivery with deliveroo plus service, you can see the notice in the app

  • Any idea on the expiry date for these giftcards?

  • +1

    still showing 4%?

  • Not available yet, come on shopback!

  • Deal live now

  • All the $100 sold out still?

    • Ok refreshed the app, they are available now

  • +1

Had to click into the deal from the home page, not from gift cards page

  • crashing app gettin ozbargained ..

    • +1

    1x $100 @ 25% CB
    1x $100 @ 20% CB

    Bonus cashback tracked straight away.

Completed earn more challenge of spending $200 on Deliveroo Gift Cards - $30 bonus Deliveroo Gift Card

    • i cant find $100 gift cards. Is it in gift card segment?

      • Were you able to find the Deliveroo gift card banner ?

    • Exactly what I did too!
      Works out to be 32.6% discount (25+20+30 / 230)

      • So good.

        Value GC $230

        $200 outright - $25 CB - $20 CB= $155 effective spend

        155/230 = 32.60%

  • -2

    got 2x25% off thanks

  • Got 235$ for 155$, sweet sweet deal i guess

  • Isnt even with 25% off, it is still more expensive (or the same) than ordering directly?

    • +2

But then you get like 20 to 40% off some store promos and free delivery with free plus for 12 months.

Generally works out cheaper then buying direct.
