How to Make Dare Iced Coffee at Home?

Are there any good recipes for making Dare yourself on the cheap? And where can I buy "Flavours" and Vegetable Gum (407)?

You'd better make it without them really.

milk, ice cubes and shot of coffee.
    simple mate

    • I did consider trying that. Maybe with some sugar and vanilla it might taste close enough.

        "some" sugar

These things have like 30g of sugar dude. That's why you can't get the same taste

how dare you ruin coffee with sugar.

        • I don't have sugar in hot coffee. I'm sweet enough already. But iced coffee needs to be sweet.

          • @AustriaBargain: i agree, no sugar if its hot, but iced is sweet

          • @AustriaBargain:

But iced coffee needs to be sweet.

            No way……

Just add pure cream instead of milk…. Sugar is not needed.

You don't need"flavours" and vegetable gum.

These things are to reduce the cost per unit and increase shelf life.

It's literally an iced coffee. Go make one and then look at the side of the dare container and see how much sugar is in it, then you'll realise why it doesn't taste the same

A Shit load of sugar 30g per 500ml, like you may need to start your own plantation. Luckily a bit of the sugar comes naturally in the milk.
    2 shots of coffee
    full cream milk

    Dissolve sugar in coffee
    Mix in with milk
maybe a dash of vanilla essence
    refrigerate
    Acquire diabetes
    repeat.

    • 2 shots of coffee
      full cream milk

Tastes much better adding pure cream.

I would argue part of the DARE experience is grabbing two at the servo on the way to site and DESTROYING the porta-loo by 9am.

You're not wrong, diarrhoea is an essential part of the iced coffee experience.

Try adding good vanilla ice cream to chilled instant coffee

I wonder if sugar syrup would work better? Nothing on the ingredients list states what kind of sugar either. Maybe even try brown sugar. Never know. The play around with the coffee granules too. Various brands.

I'd suggest make the sweetened milk first.
Then once you're happy with the sugar level, start adding predisolved granules till you get the strength you like.

How can you have drunk Dare, but never bought an iced coffee/iced latte from a cafe or even maccas, let alone just made a basic one at home?

Boggles the mind, 1 of the simplest cold drinks to make

I do buy from cafes and stuff, and especially Maccas. I do like how they taste different at each cafe. But I also like how Dare tastes exactly the same each time and comes with a screw cap lid.

    • How would you suggest making a Dare copy? Not an ice coffee but Dare.

      • +1

I don't value the taste of Dare. I buy them for convenience, but would much rather a standard iced coffee

        • Me too, i don't buy that sort of stuff. Just junk for the arteries but I can understand someone wanting to try and replicate something specific they buy. I asked how you suggest making it because you mentioned how it boggled your mind that someone wouldn't know how. I presumed you knew the answer.

  • Needs Ice cream

  • I used to buy coffee flavoured milk but now I just make a cheap and easy version at home. It doesn't taste the same but I have grown to prefer the homemade version. Put 1 teaspoon instant coffee (I use Coles Organic Fairtrade Gold Freeze Dried - $4) and 1 teaspoon caster sugar in a drinking glass. Add full cream milk and stir well. Put in freezer several minutes to make icy cold and allow coffee and sugar time to dissolve. Stir well again before drinking. Experiment with the amount of coffee and sugar to suit your tastes. If it's not sweet/strong enough, add more sugar/coffee and stir well. If too sweet/strong, add more milk.

Here are the ingredients I use for mine:
-6-8 Ice cubes (depending on size)
-1 scoop, Lactose-free Vanilla Ice cream
    -50mL, Sugar-free Maple Syrup
    -1 Tbp, Instant Coffee
    -1 cup, Unsweetened Almond Milk

    Method:
Put the Instant Coffee with a little bit of water in a cup. Microwave it for 1 minute on HIGH.
Then just combine all the ingredients in a blender, blend it up, and BOOM! You got a healthy iced coffee.

It makes an excellent pick-me-up, plus it's healthier than the regular kind and just as tasty.
