Sorry, that's 32gb. Of memory. For nearly $2/gb? Gotta love Sony's proprietary memory formats.

      LOL, over your head aye?

      • -1

Well, when you get get 2x32gb cards delievered for $35 or whatever it was (posted a few days ago on ozb), I'd say yeah. Sony's pricing sucks and they get away with it due to their propietary memory card format.

        $29 for 2 generic brand ones: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/74218
        $31 for a good brand: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/73962

So this thing is 2 to 4 times the price. And that's after a 50% discount!

        • My point was that it his is cheap compared to the usual price, so in actual fact the dollar to GB ratio is higher than the poster above thinks. That was my point, not that Sony is awesome. This is a thread to help people get bargains, the whining thread is in the forums.

Also lol at comparing to a completely different product.

Yeah but his point (and he started that line of comments) was that proprietary memory products end up being expensive for the consumer. And he's right.

I agree with you too. That's just not what his discussion was supposed to be about.

PS: I happen to be in the market and if I could get one of these at this price, I would. For the same reasons you describe - I'm being rorted, but I can't get a better deal.

        • Exactly, but there are many reasons it's as expensive as it is, and this is not the forum for that in depth discussion. The price does suck, but so does piracy.

I live right next to southland, so this deal is awesome, no need for people to bring the anti Sony talk to a great deal. All I was saying.

What day are they closing down for good?

    • They don't have exact date. They started two of three weeks ago.At first for this memory card is 15% off,and than 20% to 25%,30%,40%, now is 50% off.I think one day they will do 60% if still have stock.

Anyone want to post me one? We don't have all that many DS stores in WA (or quite often their stock is limited or nonexistent), I dont think I've got much hope of waiting for a store closure.

I may be able to help you out.

      • Thanks. Ive turned on private messages.

Click my username, hopefully the option to send me a message appears.

Then I can give you my email address or phone number.

    • Tried to match it at the Perth DSE; they said since this store was closing down, they wouldn't price match. :(
