Looking to get a second sim for recieving verification codes. What's the cheapest option? I don't want to select a regular plan or top it up.

Aldi $5 starter Sim kit with validity for 365 days

    • How's the activation work? do I need to top up
Also does that mean the sim stops working after 365 days?

Check out the ALDI web site for how they activate the SIM.

All SIMS have a length of time they will work for and after that time you need to pay to get the time extended. Some you have to pre pay and some you post pay, but either way after the time if you have not paid the service will get cut due to non payment of the service.

        • OP is looking for a service that will last for 99 years after initial payment.

          • @Neoika: Watch out for the pink elephants on a foul moon in the south…..

        • Ah ok, thanks!

      • You have to top up prior to the 365 day expiry

    • I second this. You get multiple $10 vouchers from JB perk each year, it will easily offset the year cost to recharge.

$5 first year, then $15 every year after that. You can also get a new $5 number every year.

    • Tried that, sent it a sms from my phone and it worked, but it will not recieve my code for JB Perks

      • It may be already used by others.

  • Just use the free kogan plan and cancel the autorenew after you set it up.

    • Will stop working after the free period, unless you pay for the new period.

      • No the number doesn't expire until 90 days post the end of the plan. You'll still be able to receive messages for that whole time.

        • The number does not expire for 6 months. Expire === returned to the number pool so another user can get it.
