    Meh. Double Dollar promos are frequent enough to wait and so much better value.

        thanks for the post but we are all here to save even more $$$

      • +1

        I don't recommend anyone do this deal, double days are the go.

      • Do you write a thank you on every single deal posted to the site?

        • -4

          any time i see a deal that i see and ideal for me i always say thanks OP (Original Poster)

          • +1

            @DarkSide: No you don't

            More examples where you've voted on deals but haven't thanked OP can easily be found. One would think a flying Pikachu is ideal for you.

      Thanks for the heads up @Miyagi 😉😉😉

    • Agree, pretty expensive per game now so will only bite when it's double dollar!

    • Do they notify via email when it's on?

      • +1

        If you're subscribed to their e-mails, yes

        • Cheers! Was gonna pull the trigger in this but now I'll subscribe instead

  • they had a double days a few weeks ago. best to wait it out.

  • Is buying time better value for someone who visits infrequently? Gonna take the kids to the Cavill Ave one soon.

    • Also would like to know the answer to this.

    • Depends if your kids enjoy redeeming tickets. If you purchase time you get a handful of tickets included with your purchase (enough for maybe a candy or two) but you won't earn tickets when playing.

    • Depends what they enjoy, time based only has access to red and yellow machines and you can't earn any power tickets.

      That gives you access to all the arcade games and carnival games (but no tickets), but will exclude any prize games, like claw machines, coin pushers etc (usually purple).

      If you do the $28, you'll get 2x prize games attempts and 300 tickets (good for a few lollies).

      Power tickets are of course a massive massive rip-off but kids do enjoy the redemption store.

      Keep in mind, time based value is entirely reliant on how busy the venue is when you go, if you have to do a lot of waiting, you'll just be playing less popular stuff to pass time and it's not really that enjoyable.

      • Power tickets are of course a massive massive rip-off

        It is possible to minmax to such an extent on specific machines that tickets become cost effective and even profitable - but at that point you're playing solely to redeem and flip TVs, not to actually enjoy the games.

        • Which games can maximize tickets to be profitable?

      You want to take your kids to a place where ice addicts are a dime a dozen? Timezone is a rip-off anyhow.

      Go for a spin up to Brissie, take them to some real arcades;

      Netherworld and Pinball Haus (both in Fortitude Valley),
      Pincadia (near the Gabba).

      All of the above still use coin mechs, generally $1 a game.

      1Up Arcade (Morningside).

      1Up does an "all you can play all day" format;
      $18 for either pinball or video ($15 for kids)
      $28 for combined ($25 for kids)

  • thanks! I am pretty convinced at least 2 of these 5 are 'standard' offers, it always had 'load $60 get $90' & 'load $100 get $160' everytime i went (except for the double dollar event).

    • They're slightly higher, it's usually $100 + $50 and the $60, $70, $120 options aren't standard options. Though it varies by venue so you may well have seen that and you may have always seen a "promo" :P

  • I'd hadn't been to a timezone for years. There is about 10% video games. The rest are games of skill and chance resulting in in tickets being dispensed. Essentially gambling for kids. It also seems video games at arcades hasn't advanced in the last 20 years. Shame really

    Man cost of living in living in a time zone

  • If I don't have timezone card, can I go to nearest kingpin and get a card there so I can get this deal? There's literally no timezone near cbd, only kingpin at crown…

    • never heard of king pin before you can always head there n ask :)

      • If anyone cares and for future reader that happens to see this post for whatever reason, yes I got kingpin card and can register it under timezone app. Now to wait for the double charge deals…
