Reason: Listing error on Amazon. Users reported receiving a 16GB Kit, not a 64GB Kit as was initially posted.

Another mistake? Price error? Says kit of two and 64gb….

  • Title says 64gb but model number says 16gb.

    • Model number has 64 on the end in the title.

      • +4

Model number in the "technical details" he probably meant.

        • Certainly an error though as the 16GB option is more expensive.
Model number from title _ KF552C40BBK2-64

    Buy first ask questions later

    • +3

Buy first hassle Amazon support for a free voucher later

      • -1

Bad faith. Perhaps karma will kick in and Amazon hassles you?

  • +3

    ASIN shows it's 16GB.

  • 16GB and the listing that says 16GB is actually 32GB

  • +11

Just went through this on the corsair ones, if the title doesnt match the item number in the ASIN then you will just get sent what ever the ASIN number says it is

    • How did amazon resolve? Make u send back for refund?

      • +16

Yep refund once item is returned. Tried 5 different agents got 20 bucks promo credit. Not worth the effort

    • yes, highly possible.

  • +2

Looks like another free $10 credit šŸ˜‚

    • +17

After you contact an agent, argue, and mail it back. Easily an hour or so of work? Not sure ok I'm with being paid $10/hr lol

        • -3

Must feel real good to swing a petty little scam like thatā€¦ $30 for free! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

          /s

        • +1

lol. Love this level of dedication to the cause. I salute you @cook99

        • Lol so many negs for a tongue in cheek comment about $30 šŸ˜„

Meanwhile the most popular deal/forum post of the year is celebrating exploitation of muzeeb for a $2200 price error šŸ™ƒ

      • +3

What are you talking about? Please be reminded that OzBargainers earn $90K a year on average and we purchase, contact and "argue" during our work hours. In reality we get paid $43.27 an hour to be on OzBargain all day and this little $10 is a bonus.

  • Added to Cart, Size Name: 64GB, Style Name: Kit of 2, Pattern Name: 5200MT/s

  • +11

    You'll be shipped a 16GB kit, guaranteed.

  • +9

    $178.07 boomerang.

  • One left in stock.

  • i ordered 1 when it said 1 left in stock, still1 left in stock so i doubt that is correct

  • +3

    Brought one
But decided to cancel after reading about the possibility of being 16gb
    Too much hassle returning it

    • +5

So you bring one. How then can you cancel when you did not even buy one?

  • +1

    Ordered but cancelled.

$10 now is worth $2 pre inflation lol

    • -1

What do you mean $10 now is worth $2 pre inflation? You saying this would have sold at $35.6 (20% of the price) if inflation didn't happen? Or am I reading into a hyperbole too much?

      • +3

Iā€™m referring to the $10 Amazon credit if this was a wrong product and youā€™ve chosen to return it.

  • +2

Spoke to Amazon Customer Service who confirmed "As I can see your product details, you will get the product of 64GB. The information available on the website are misleading and I am escalating this issue."

    • +10

CS rep is just a lackey, it's always the same… you will get what the ASIN shows

    • Customer rep promised me he'd make sure I will be sent 64GB. Guess I'll find out in a month or so if he was telling the truth!

      • +1

Yeh I've also spoken to the customer rep, and he rest assured me that I'll be getting what I've selected which he could see is a '64gb' version of the product.

        • +2

Guys, these items are not handpicked.

Amazon warehouses are fully automated, you get what the computer sees and that is what the ASIN shows.

          • @Jessie Ryder: Problem is the ASIN on the invoices show KF552C40BBK2-64, which really confuses the CSR.

I do agree with you though, Amazon USA is pretty switched on. The chance of these going through without being noticed is low.

  • The 16GB version is also wrong - part number ā€ŽKF552C40BBK2-32, which is 32GB.

  • Good deal. Pass. Looked like My mainboard just support ddr4.

  • +10

Careful peeps, this is extra painful if coming from Amazon US. There's international freight you have to pay for on the return, which needs another call, and international freight form to have it reimbursed.

  • Price has changed from 178 to 210 now :o what's going on? XD it's like they are aware of this but also not? LOL

Update: the price has now gone from 210 to 173.30 lol

Update: the price has now gone from 173.30 to 209.76.

    • Now a $170.86 boomerang

  • What a good deal.
Just too good to be true…

  • +2

yep definitely a pricing error. Just talked to a amazon customer support. They definitely wont honor this deal for the people who bought it, according to him.

    • Did you buy one though?

      • I bought it this morning seeing as it was for 170 and lots of people are saying that they will get the 64gb one.

  • +1

I see that my order is for KF552C40BBK2-64. That is for 2x32Gb, right?

Anyway, worst they can do is refund (because of pricing error) before shipping out, right?

    • +1

Why not trust other Ozbargainer instead of taking the risk?
Maybe this is the lesson for the trust?

      • I did purchase 2 sets of 64Gb already, but was confused what the fuss was about the incorrect asin.

        • I decided to cancel the order when I realised the product title does not match the product information "Technical Details" below. I don't want to deal with getting a refund for this. Besides, the main reason is I don't have a new computer that uses DDR5 yet.

  • +1

I donā€™t need it but can make me needing it in near future. Thanks Op. ordered.

  • How much would this cost normally?

  • +10

Definitely listing error, when you copy the ASIN into Amazon US website https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T97ZSVB you will see that it is really a 16GB kit (2x8GB)

    • So you're saying I should buy it to get a coupon?

If it actually comes I'd sell it for it's actual value.

    • Thank, now I understand what you mean by asin.

  • +2

I talked to amazon support and she said i will receive the 64gb version.

    wasn't super convincing tho.

I asked if id receive the 64gb version even tho the ASIN does not match. she just said yes ill get the 64gb version.

  • +2

Either deal of the year -OR- headache of the year. 50/50

  • +1

Took the gamble. Let's see what February brings…

  • +2

Just purchased 5 minutes ago for $170.86. Title definitely says 2x32GB… KF552C40BBK2-64. Goodluck everyone else!

    • +1

      same 10m ago Goodluck~~~~

  • +3

Got cancellation email, ā€œitem is out of stock. You will be refunded soonā€.

  • +2

Just talked to customer service, and confrimed i will receive 64GB, not 16GB, and i also questioned if the item is not correct, can i have full refund, they confrimed yes, and they also confrimed they will cover the return freight cost as well, even is to US.

    • If you have the chat transcript saved, would you mind sharing it?

  • You still can place the order. It is showing $170 now.

  • Bought 1 anyway, est. shipping Jan., plenty time to cancel lol

  • Thanks! Ordered! Yolo.

  • Ordered and cancelled when it first came up, but after reading some comments ordered again.

  • Order now then deal with it later, didnā€™t you guys learn from the Dell Alienware deal?

    • Someone actually got it, and Dell offered $249 to some a few days ago, see follow-ups. And no money withheld by Dell when canceled.

      • Whatā€™s this about sell offering something?

    • Worse case, just hurt someoneā€™s feelings? You have to deal with FOMO if honoured. Just lower your expectations, what to lose? I ordered one and donā€™t expect to get it, getting up to 40 days to cancel or canceled by Amazon automatically.

    • Sorry not aware of this one, which deal were you talking about?

  • +1

Lol, people looking for validation from Amazon support. They are terrible.

Y'all should just wait it out.

    • -1

That's 8GB from Amazon US, lol

    • That is $92 for a single 32gb RAM stick.

  • Price drop to $170.86

  • +1

    Ordered. Expected 31 Jan. Ouch

  • Thanks, ordered
    Arriving 31 Jan 2023 - 6 Feb 2023

  • Guess I will just keep it and upgrade to AM5 when 7950x3d is out next year, worst case a $10 voucher from Amazon LOL

  • +2

Crazy price fluctuation. I hope $170.86 is honoured (for 4 Jan - 6 Feb delivery?) My 1st component of the new gen desktop. Now good MB & CPU…

    • Same for me. Live chat just confirmed with me the item will be honoured at 64GB (2x32GB), so we'll see what happens……

      • Now shipped 28 Dec & arriving 26 Jan'23 - I hope the 2x32GB, so I can start building with the latest gen MB/CPU.

    • Whatever you chose to land on, just make sure to stick to 2x DDR5 DIMMs for AM5, performance seems to take a massive hit when using 4xDIMMs (speed drops to about 3600). Still early days for DDR5 I think..

  • I wonder why they still havenā€™t fixed it?

  • Does anybody have a screenshot of live chat saying they will honour it?

  • Still works

  • Price and seller have changed on the listing

  • Which should I keep???

    https://imgur.com/a/040mGVH

    5200mts for $170
    or 4800mts for $105??

    • Link for the 4800 please

      • Came up when I bought the 5200 after clicking through and was last one supposedly. It says I bought the 'single dimm' listing in the header comparisons, but as far as I'm concerned I'll take the hit with amazon and see what they ship me. Invoice Title says what you see in the images so I'll either get money back (voucher) or what the invoice says.
