    Still available, I'm scared.

Give me your credit card, I will buy one set for you.

  • +2

Anyone have a screenshot of amazon chat saying that they will honor it?

    • We already have 2 versions of responses from the customer reps. One said it will not be honoured, another one said people will get the 64GB kit.

The issue appears to be Amazon linked the wrong product ID to the product and the price conversion is based on the product ID (which is 16GB (2x8GB)).

    The correct one should be:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09T9DMYRT

Question is when Amazon USA realises the mistake, what will they do? My guess is cancel these orders. However, the worst thing could be Amazon USA sent 2x8GB kits to people and to get a refund, people will need to send them back.

  • Price dropped overnight by $8.

    • Possibly AUD-USD exchange rate.

      • Possibly, but doesn't matter what the reason is. Just letting people know that they can save a further $8 compared to post title.

      what is on your invoice?

      • I’m curious too

        • +1

Mine's shipped and the invoice has

          Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 16GB (2x8GB)
          5200MT/s DDR5 CL40 DIMM Desktop Gaming
          Memory Kit of 2 - KF552C40BBK2-16 |
          B09T97ZSVB

So looks like they're shipping 2x8GB.

  • Why did I order this, my computer is not even ddr5 compatible :s

    • Same but, it'll be for my new build some point in the near future

      • You ordered it for the thrills and for a chance at getting compensation from Amazon. 99% sure you'll just get a 16GB kit.

        • You'll get the opportunity to test-drive Amazon's generous returns policy when they send the wrong item.

          • +1

@BargainKen: Not Amazon USA. Be prepare to fork out return postage first. After Amazon USA received it, they will then refund the return postage and the actual refund. There could also be some currency exchange differences (not just on the item itself, but on the return postage, since it is Amazon USA, Amazon would probably convert the return postage to USD (the then your bank converts it back). In the past, when I had to return item to Amazon USA, I pretty much have to contact them after the initial refund to raise another request to get the currency conversion difference on the return postage. On the currency conversion issue on the actual item, well, there is not much we can do about it.

            • @netsurfer: Ive sent stuff back to their US site before, didnt have to pay any shipping or currency conversion fees. Was as seamless as any other return.

  • +2

Unfortunately, they've linked the option to the wrong part.
Take off the .au on the URL and it shows the correct page on the US site (16GB):
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T97ZSVB?smid=A4XRJ8S0WXSO0&th=1

    • Yeah, $286 USD for these bad boys.

  • Bought last night at $179. Pricing now $209.. what on earth is going on.

EDIT: I noticed too that I bought from Amazon US, but this morning the listing shows Sold/Ships From MemoryC USA. Order cancellations incoming? Then again, $209 is still awfully cheap.

  • Nope, this is Amazon US & 100% says on the listing x 2 32GB kits total of 64GB. In my experience if Amazon do not deliver what they describe, they will just let you keep what you bought & refund you the money. Had this happen a few years ago when they screwed up Ryzen CPU & MOBO combos. Ended up scoring 2 free MOBO's from them & could have scored even more, but did not want to push my luck. From memory it was a MSI X570 Ace & X570 MSI Gaming X MOBO's.

Edit: Also mine were 172.59 AUD from Amazon US. Lets see if they arrive though. LOL

    • Amazon US "used to" do that. However, they stopped a few years ago. It happened to me when they sent me the wrong thing. I even informed them it will end up cost them more if I were to send the item back (because I would only post using a service with tracking service). The staff told me that's the policy. They did send international express the correct item.

      • Interesting. Mine was in 2019, so I will keep what you said in mind.

    • +1

I think the error has been fixed and the one for $172.59 has been corrected to be a 16GB set (2x8GB) rather than a 64GB set

      • +1

My order still shows the 64gb kit, so that gives me some hope

        • +3

I chatted to a rep and he told me that I should get what is in my order. no harm trying i guess.

          • @bez: Awesome news, thanks for sharing

          • @bez: And that is game over. They either have to supply you what your ordered or fix their mistake by supplying another 32GB kit for free. It is now in writing, so keep the chat log & do not accept no for an answer. Escalate to a manager if needed. That is my plan, as I can already see the crap which is comming.

    • +3

I just received this 64g DDR5 RAM is is 2x16g instead of 2x32g, the only option they give me is return and refund not even give me credit

  • +1

Any updates from those who ordered?

    • thinking about cancelling to save the headache for returning

  • +5

I just received my order and it was a 2x8GB set. I’m trying to chat with support to get it fixed.

    • let us know tactics if you are successful

    • +1

Please mention that there are potentially a whole lot of people in the same boat.

  • +2

Mine came, 16GB kit. Amazon Chat can't do anything except send back for refund.

  • +3

    cancelled mine!

  • +4

152 upvotes. You were told what you were not getting the 64gb kit.

    • +1

Never underestimate the power of the upvote, no matter how ludicrous the situation..

    • The issue is people see the invoice stating it is the 64GB kit. However, after the listing got revised a few days later, it becomes clear Amazon US would most likely ship 16GB kit.

  • +2

I received this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/744523 yesterday, as expected it is one 8GB instead of 64GB. Argued with live chat and was given $5 promotion credit. Will return the item for refund today.
I have ordered this 64GB 5200MT/s too but cancelled it this morning to save the hassle.

    • -2

They can't do that. It is illegal under the ACCC laws.Straight off the ACCC site: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/advertising-and-promotions…

      "Bait advertising:

Bait advertising is the practice of promoting prices, often ‘sale’ prices, on products that are:

      not available, or
available only in very limited quantities."

This was purchased off the Amazon Oz site, so they are now responsible for supplying what we ordered, regardless of what the poor Customer Service Person is told as per company policy. I would call them & demand to speak to a manager. If no joy, I imagine if they have done this now on a few products, so all we need to do is ALL lodge a report with the ACCC & they will love this shit! A big scalp for them, great media as well & a massive fine for Amazon. Win, win win & Amazon gets taught a very expensive lesson. Also the ACCC is likely to force them to supply what they were meant to all the customers orders they cancelled.

      • I'd not false advertising, it's a error in the listing. The part number is for the the 8gb as people said up in the first replies (as they do for all these too good to be true price error take my chances posts)

      • Its a pricing error. They are not obliged to honour this. Just look at Amazon terms and conditions.

        • -1

I respectfully disagree. A consumer clicks on the link & it shows 32GB x 2 even when the press on the link. Trying to hide this as a "pricing error" is not correct. It all comes down to what would a "reasonable person" expect from this listing. They would expect to get what was advertised & what they paid for. It is not up to the cosumer to check part numbers to make sure they are getting what they paid for. At some point Amazon will cop a almight wack from the ACCC. I imagine the ACCC are just in the process of lining up their ducks in a row to do exactly that. But who knows, it would not be the first time a massive global company got a free pass to rip people off.

TBH my time is worth more than the crap show which is Amazson ATM, so I have cancelled my order. Most stuff is ok, but it is crap like this which helps me justify all the times I spend & will continue to spend the extra 10-20% at a retail store. At least this way I can in my own small way support employment locally, instead of some forgeign conglomorate like Amazon who can't even get their pricing right online.

          • @Dean D: I respectfully tell you that you are 100% wrong. This has been tested many, many times.

  • Thanks to those who posted back after getting the 16GB kit.

    Order cancelled.

  • Another mistake?

    $104 Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 64GB Single Module 4800MT/s
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09T8ZMKHG

    • Yep ffs Amazon get your shit together.

      That's a 8gb stick.

    • looks like the list is now been updated.

    • yup, it's an 8gb stick, spoke to csr and he just refunded me, keep the item.

  • Rep told me they'd contact the seller to update the listing - isn't it sold by Amazon US?? weird.

  • Thanks for the post. End up with 16GB, so will return it.

  • My order is dispatched now, the invoice shows 16GB (2x8GB).

  • Just received mine. Was 2x8GB so am returning, which is a hassle. Lesson learnt not to bite on likely Amazon title/listing errors.

  • Once the item is shipped the invoice is created & it specifies:
    Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 16GB (2x8GB)
    5200MT/s DDR5 CL40 DIMM Desktop Gaming
    Memory Kit of 2 - KF552C40BBK2-16 | B09T97ZSVB

I triggered return (before it is charged & out for delivery) & the reply was:
Estimated refund timing: Within 3 to 15 business days of receiving the item.
No charge yet & not sure if it will be shipped.

Best way to get $10 (or so) voucher?

  • +1

Received 2 x 8GB in the mail as expected.

Spoke to rep, no credit, just offer of refund. I tried to wrangle a return / replacement with the "correct' option but they didn't bite. They knew the listing instantly so it must be flagged on their backend as a widespread issue.

  • +1

    I had offered "returnless refund".

    Best xmas gift from amazon.

    • Same here

  • Managed to get them to price credit me the difference after returning and getting a refund for the 16GB kit and ordering the 64GB kit - not as good as a returnless refund but I'll take it

    • I was offered the same. I can only drop the return item to a nearby Parcel Point which did not give me any receipt. How long for you to get the refund for 16GB?

      • I complained a little bit to get an advanced refund - as my experience in the past indicates that I wasn't going to get a refund until the return hit the warehouse in the US

        • Thanks for sharing your experience. Have you re-ordered the 64GB RAM? I just paid $485 for the 64GB set. Hopefully they will honor the deal and refund the difference when new RAM is arrived.

          • +1

@waverock: Yeah I re-ordered the 64GB kit ($530) and arrived before the new year. Have already received the price different credit in Amazon gift card.

            • @Garbotoxin: I was offered promotion credit for the difference between 16GB and 64GB after chat with 3 CS today. No more 5200mhz kits left, so I ordered $449 5600mhz kits and they agree to refund the difference of $277 once delivered.

              • @couger: Same here. Got the 5600 MHz 64GB kit delivered today and spoke to CS and will have promotional credit for the price difference for future orders. 16GB kit is on the way back to fulfillment centre to get the refund.

  • +2

Managed to keep my ram and get my refund. Hooray!

    • How did you guys manage to get the "returnless refund"? Is it through the normal return process?

      • +1

You can try online chat with Amazon AU - it is a hit or miss depending on who you are talking to.

      • With the security camera recently I followed the prompts of returning and it let me keep it, I didn’t speak to a agent

    • Knew I should have ordered, rats

    • I just got the same treatment. Keeping the ram and getting the refund.

      • No luck for me :( Second set of ram also - they're making me return both :(

        • Did you get any vouchers from them?
I also got $20 added to my amazon account as well.

I'd highly recommend using the online chat if you aren't already.

          • @soyboi42: Used online chat both times and acted a little more distressed second time. They weren't having a bar of it and I've been a Prime meber for years…

No credit either. I'm pretty disappointed that others get to keep theirs…

    • how can i keep the ram and get the refund?

  • check the ram you received, seems I received the 32GB kit instead of 16GB.
