Always amused at number of Troll posts that are commented on by others with a post declaring it a Troll Post.

So what way is best to handle a Troll Post (especially one with a poll)

    Get outraged and smash away at your keyboard at all the people in the thread the troll got sympathy from.

    This is the OzBargain way.

    Troll posts are rarely removed unless an absolutely blatant attempt at trolling is witnessed. A good troll is good for the site, it’s drives engagement with the site. This is why SlavOz lasted so long and escaped so many bans over trolling. Every post they made was pages and pages long with everyone yelling at SlavOz and each other. Nothing drives engagement like conflict.

    With old mate who believed sunscreen is a scam deleting his account and Slav being in the penalty box the rate of troll posts has actually been alright recently. The odd troll post is ok, I mean we ARE here to argue, right? 😂

    Personally, I love troll posts. The comedic value of some people trying to solve the problem vs exacerbate the problem gives me a Santa chuckle.

    Yes, because opposing points of view are very dangerous and those people must be "othered" by a negative label like "troll" or "anti-xxx" or "xxx-ism" !!!

    1. Ignore or block. Trolls need an audience for attention.
    2. Out troll them until they get bored and quit
    3. Identify who they are so they lose their cloak of anonymity.

    A good troll post should be hard to spot.

    It amazing how quick some people are to dismiss any difference of opinion as a 'troll' though, that is not what a troll is…
