This 'encyclopedia' of arcade game machines from 1977-1979 is currently free (normally US$1), though I'm unsure for how long. It's by DaddaRuleKonge who has done some great stuff featured a year or two back by @dealbot and @lysander.

Other titles are available and, though not free, are very cheap. Correction: See Update Below

      If you mean this one: The Arcade "Encyclopedia" 1970-1976, it's actually free as well.

    Yes: Space Stranger is a rare Bootleg of Space Invaders. Note: I am not sure if there is a difference between Space Stranger and Super Space Stranger, or if it’s just a name change. Manufacturer Yachiyo Electronics. Release 1978-1979

  This guy has many books and most available free, but in several places he admits that the information is taken straight from Wikipedia and that he made these books out of boredom. Might be better to read Wikipedia!
