Energy Effervescent (eg. Berocca) with No Caffeine or Artificial Sweeteners?

Hi all,

Seeking an effervescent tablet (like Berocca) - but without caffeine or artificial sweeteners.

Hairy Lemon and Voost unfortunately have both of these too. Not sure what else to try? Suggestions most welcome. Organic/natural products also very welcome! Preferably in tablet or sachet form so I can chuck it in my work bag.

Thank you!

  • What would be the purpose of this without caffeine? Vitamin supplementation has been proven to be ineffectual unless you are deficient in a certain type.

    • Berocca doesn't have caffeine. But it does have artificial sweeteners. I'm looking for that B vitamin complex for energy throughout the day. A B vitamin tablet doesn't give that same kick.

      • You either have a deficiency or it's the placebo effect. I'd go get a blood test to find out.

        • I'm in for blood tests every other week for other reasons. Not deficient in anything

      • Berocca boost has caffeine.

I'm saying that only caffeine has been proven to provide any sort of energy. A Vitamin B complex will not other than through placebo.

So just a multi-vitamin tablet or gummy then? Do you a specific medical deficiency? If not, then consider your diet and what fresh food you can add to get the vitamin uptake you need, instead of resorting to these chemical products.

    • I'm perfectly healthy - I just work long hours and don't drink caffeine.

That means these effervescent tablets will do nothing for you except be a tasty drink.

        • Berocca works really well for me, but I'm not able to have artificial sweeteners anymore. It's tough to find one without

  • Beyond Vitamin B-complex, I wouldn't recommend anything. They don't work.

You need a stimulant to do so, like caffeine or amphetamine.

  • isn't it called a vegetable?

  • Pretty sure those types of supplements are just a multivit tablet in effervescent form, and added caffeine which you are trying to avoid.

  • Ener-C sounds like what you want. Not sure it meets your requirements though as it’s mainly vitamin C, with lesser amounts of B3 and A. You can get it on Amazon or from Go-Vita stores.

    • Thank you! I'll give it a shot 😊

    More likely a B12 and/or D3 (fat soluble) deficiency than a B complex (water soluble) deficiency :/

Get a blood test, betting low iron and low B12 / D3!

Why? Most humans do not eat enough animal fat to get sufficient B12 (which leads to low ferritin / iron) and do not get enough sun for sufficient D3 :/

    • I'm in for blood tests every other week for other reasons, so I know many of my levels at any given time, more than most people! Not running deficient in either, thanks for the suggestion though πŸ˜‚

Most doctors don't even test for vitamin levels, especially if you are in getting blood tests every second week (that means doctors are testing you for very specific blood tests and not constantly doing a broad spectrum of blood tests every second week)!!

So while you think they are monitoring vitamins, it is highly likely they are not even ordering those blood panels ;)

        • I am being monitored for Vitamin A, B spectrum, D spectrum, Iron/Ferratin and a host of others. I'm given all results right away. All well within normal range or above average

          • @CryssieJade:

I'm given all results right away

That seems strange, wouldn't your blood have to be sent to the pathology lab?

Are you sure you're not actually visiting a vampire who is disguised as a nurse 🧐

Athletic Greens is fairly expensive at $3/serve however fairly well regarded in the US. Could be worth a trial if you're searching for a clean, well-researched supplement to keep vitality levels high.

    • Thank you, that does seem a bit high but I'll look into it. Also going to introduce some spirulina - have had it before but not for a while. Works well 😊

  • meth and a bottle of soda water.

  • Salvital:

    Ingredients:
Sugar, Mineral Salt 500, Food Acids (296, 334), Mineral Salt 518, Lemon Flavour.

I have only recently discovered this, and I enjoy it very much as an alternative to soft drinks, orange juice etc.
