Nice can get cheap perfume for my girlfriend.

    Edit: https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/90946/aveeno-skin-re…

How is this a savings. I’ve gotten this cream in the past for $8.75.

    Boring.

    • +1

Another exaple: Maltofer Oral Iron 100mg 30 Tablets could be bought on 30 Nov for $21.99. Now it is $26.49.
However, if you want some vitamins which are already on 1/2 price sale, then the 10% additional discount is good.

      • +2

They made sure you couldn’t get a better deal with this “extra 10pc off” for those vitamins.. “Excludes: 1/2 price off rrp & edlp promotions”

        • Must be new as I got 10% off MagMin in last 10% off sale, which was on sale at "half price" (claimed RRP). It's probably in response to being Ozbargained i.e. people stocking up on already heavily discounted items with additional 10% off.

        • +2

Surprisignly I got 10% off the vitamins which were 1/2 price off rrp

      • $26.49 would be their regular price. They just changed catalogue, today's the first day I believe.

Excludes: baby formula, prescriptions, pharmacist only medication

        • but maltofer is available straight off the shelf?

    • Tight arse !

    • +2

Lmao yeah, PriceHipster shows it was $7.87 25th Nov, $8.74 before that. The gouging of late is ridiculous. QV products, Pine O'Cleen, so much just suddenly skyrocketed at both CW and Coles. Recall seeing Pine O'Cleen laundry sanitiser for $8-16, now $20-22. Everyone just using the cover of war in Ukraine and inflation to bump everything up ridiculously, before very modestly lowering it later. There's a reason why so many businesses do better in times of crisis.

      • It is not a gouging, it is called inflation 😂

        • +1

Yeah, product the commentor mentioned went up 50% over a couple of weeks. Product I mentioned regularly on sale at $8, has since Nov been 'on sale' at $19.70, almost 250% increase. You yourself believe CW is price jacking based on comments in this very thread, but sure, it's not gouging. Also, the energy cost crisis totally isn't war profiteering.

  • Of course

  • +11

10% off storewide - exclusions apply.

    Does not compute.

"10% off a a bunch of shit" doesn't sell as well I guess.

  • +1

why does perfume suddenly become out of stock for local pick up when a sale is on.

I went to buy last night and it was available and this morning it's suddenly out of stock.

Same thing happened during black Friday sales.

is there a way I can order it for delivery ? I just wanted to order it and have it delivered as I wont have time this week to go into the store, i don't care for the 10% sale but right now I cant seem to add the item to the cart as it's mysteriously out of stock because of a sale.

"Temporarily Low Stock Online - Please Select Click & Collect Store" is stopping me from being able to add the item to cart for delivery.

    • +8

They increased the price on a bunch of stuff I was looking at. It was cheaper before the 10% off. So basically just marketing tactics.

    • I have always struggled to get popular perfumes delivered from CW they are often in-store only or out of stock.

    • They took it off the shelf. They do it every time. Dylan Blue, all the Sauvage and possibly others out of shelf and online sale. You will be able to order it after this frenzy

      • whabbout mont blanc explorer

        • Not sure but if you want a good alternative to explorer there is Vibrant Leather by Zara

          • @Laziofogna: cheers for suggest ! will try remember that

i had to get 100ml from myer instead, even though $152 vs $70 CWH , as a gift.

maybe i'll take a crack on claiming price insurance on it

  • +4

Yes have jacked all the prices.
Musashi Shred & Burn Chocolate Milkshake Flavour Protein 2kg was for $67 now selling for $81.89 after 10% off. Where as other stores are selling for $69.
    No deal for me.

  • I thought damn just placed an order before midnight. But on the contrary: lucky I did place the order right before the start of the promo because all the prices of items I bought are now more expensive after discount.
The only item that is still the same price, is excluded from the promo …

  • +26

Ok if people are seeing price jacking ahead of promos by CA can you please send details of the pre and post prices to the ACCC Via web form? They will be very interested if there are at least a handful of specific examples.

    • How can we be sure the items weren't just part of the catalogue sale that ended yesterday though? There was something I was looking at over the weekend that's now jacked, but I can't be sure it wasn't just a sale price and I didn't realise.

      • this is what's going on. it does suck but it's definitely not illegal in any way or what have you as far as i know - the signage in stores for catalogue pricing are all marked with end dates (yesterday)

  • +11

Price is always jacked for a lot of the products during their “10% off”

Do you research before buying anything from this “deal”

    • +3

I think a bunch of us need to research and send the proof to accc. If several dozen did it the accc would certainly take notice

  • Thank you for sharing the deal, OP :)

  • +6

Chem warehouse is out of control there prices are up 100,200 % there RRP are insane and when you lift the sale tickets it can be cheaper at the normal shelf price come on ACCC this is one place that needs investergating like the item i get normal price is $11.99. now $13.99 take 10% $12.60. what a rip.

  • Nicotinell gum has also increased in price for the sale

  • +12

As many have said: Jacking up prices to then "discount". BS sale.

  • Luckily I checked this place before I check CW out. Everything I need is not discounted lol

    • +2

Down voting due to price jacking. Nothing against OP.

  • +1

The two discounted perfumes that I delayed buying waiting for the a 10%, were still the same price. 10% saving for me.

One was "temporarily low in stock online", so I couldn't get a free delivery and had to do C+C. No free samples for me. :-(

Then the fun began with whack-a-mole finding a local store with stock that suddenly didn't disappear when checking out. Luckily I have seven CW surrounding me, so eventually got one to pass checkout and is already ready for collection.

  • +3

Price jacking as usual. Screw this joint.

  • +4

    Hydralyte 20 tab $10.99 yesterday, $11.69 today (10% off $12.99) .. lol

  • Nice, I can combine this with my amex offer

  • lucky i got my click and collect in yesterday (using 28 degrees cashback deal) cause everything is jacked, for eg, bbox sippy cup was 11.16 yest, 13.49 today (thats with the 10% off )

  • +3

Did these guys get some exclusive deal with the ACCC that prevents them from getting in trouble with the price jacks during promos?

  • What the… The item I want isn't any of the excluded categories but it's still not applying a discount?

Unless they are suddenly classing probiotics as pharmacy medicine?

    Sham…

  • It appeara Jack now visits CW too.
I checked Nasonex spray last night for the twin pakc and it was $29.90, not only it has gone up today it appears it is excluded from the 10% too

    • Excludes Pharmacist Medicines, which Nasonex is. I bought the twin pack a few weeks ago - it was on special, which has presumably ended. Even when on sale it was still more expensive that generics but they were out of stock. Try for generics if you want to save money.

  • +1

It probably wasn't wise of Chemist Warehouse to have a 10% off sale the day after their catalogue sale finished. A heap of stuff will have gone up with the sale finishing potentially giving the impression of price jacking, whether they have price jacked or not.

FWIW I bought Jadore 100ml perfume during last 10% off sale - and it was $143.99, which is 10% off the normal discounted price of $159.99 ($267 at Myer). It's still $159.99 before 10% discount for today's 10% off sale. It was also $159.99 when I checked it in October and saw it was cheaper than duty free at Perth Airport so I waited until I came back from holidays before buying and was lucky to jag at 10% off.

I knew some clown would neg me. If you believe what I've said is wrong then respond with words to back up your neg vote. That's the problem with anonymous negative voting on comments not requiring a reason or justification. You don't need much of an IQ to neg vote but it requires more intelligence if you need to justify it.

  • +1

    They jacked prices last time.

  • +4

Down voting due to price jacking.

  • +2

Price increased far more than 10% from a few days ago, eg Regaine and Hair A Gain. No deal for jacking.

    • Personally don't think CW would do price jacking. It's probably the product you were looking for which is end of promotion period.

      • +2

This happens with popular items before every 10% sale they have though. It’s not a coincidence

      • You want to see my order from 11pm yesterday, then the price after midnight?

        • CW last catalogue ended on the 11th. What time does the new/next day start?

          • @Ughhh: So conveniently their catalogue ends every time they have a 10% off storewide promo so that everything that would have been a good deal becomes overpriced?

            • -1

@Deals For Days: Yes, the new catalogue just came out while we were all sleeping (I've been waiting for their new catalogue to make a decision on a purchase). It's bad timing on their part. However, some things that weren't on sale in last catalogue may be now.

          • +1

@Ughhh: They have products which are perputually "on sale" which aren't part of catalogue specials.

  • +2

Whether they are actually price-jacking may be up for debate, but you can use this website price history and if you're actually getting a deal PriceHipster

  • La Roche Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF 50+ 50ml was $24.xx
    And now $27.44
    Dodgy Sale

  • Prices were lower before this deal which is beyond comical.

  • Jack lives here

  • +2

This promotion has higher prices than prior to the promotion which makes the promotion misleading. No doubt people will get sucked in. The way I see it, this is advertising and not a bargain.

  • This dodgy sales is worse than ebay price jacking. Their everyday always on sale prices were cheaper than this 10% discount.

  • They cancelled the only thing in my order which was cheaper than usual

  • +3

If Coles and Woolies had a 10% off storewide sale on a Wednesday then some people would be complaining about items going up in price from the day before…. They must be price jacking. It doesn't matter that their sales prices ended at midnight (AEDT) the day before - and that there's a new sale just started as well as 10% off storewide.
If there's been real price jacking for this Chemist Warehouse sale then report to ACCC. It's illegal. However, do your homework first though and make sure they're not catalogue items from sale just ended that have reverted to their "normal" price. Otherwise you're just wasting your time. The previous sale was advertised as being for a certain period and has ended.

I know this will attract neg votes - but at least back it up with a comment to justify it.

  • Price jacking, what a shame

  • Price jacking but it has got 142 up votes. The world must be crazy

    • +3

Upvoted because I saved 10% on prices that DIDN'T change. I'm not crazy.

As pointed out, a catalogue ended, so some prices went back to normal. Not necessarily jacking.

It was a bargain for me and many others.

  • -1

Price jacking. Hydralyte and voost are more expensive with discount than they were undiscounted before the sale.

  • +2

to be fair… some gift set price are same as last week.
Also, I would suggest to check perfume expiry date before buying.
Last week… I liked a perfume and mfd was aug 2020. usually that is why it is cheaper than myer or similar store.
Yes, it does not help when you want to perfume online. Also, it does not help as most of their perfume are in locked display. If I like a smell and I asked to see the box and remember batch number and walk away to check expiry date. very inconvenient but as true bargainer we go long way to make sure out spend is worth it!
    I use below site:

You must be new to the fragrance community.

      • not really. dont know what made you think that.
i saw few comments about price jack so made my comment.

        • +1

If you were not new you'd know that the old batches are the most sought after due to reformulations watering the product at every new batch. Also expiry date applies, just in theory, only when you open the bottle. In reality if you keep the perfumes in a cool environment and far from sunlight they last years and years. But it's fine to be new, it's a wonderful adventure to collect fragrances

          • @Laziofogna: Also a note as well with Summer coming, most of the CWH stores i've notice have their fragrances at the front of the shop windows, meaning that the sun is hitting the fragrances directly, i would stay clear from purchasing expensive fragrances from CWH. But if its a everyday office fragrance, by all means go for it.

            • @Mrinsane: Yeah from the store it's important to take notice how they are stored, online they send from warehouse so not exposed to sunlight and personally never had a problem. Surely if I just have to save 10 dollars I'd prefer to buy from DJ.

              • @Laziofogna: Exactly, not to mention, CWH was allegedly selling fake Victoria Secrets fragrance and body mists. Whole lawsuit is happening at the moment. Who knows, might be fake perfume that CWH is selling ?

  • Dolce light blue women was 1/2 price $72. Now is $80 and -10%. What a discount!

  • Online only , or in-store as well ?

  • Anyone know if you can use multiple Chemist Warehouse Gift Cards in Store please?

  • I placed an order online,1 item was removed from the order by chemistwarehouse (no reason provided). Now I see the original pending amount is settled.
    And I didn't receive a refund yet.
