Paying more for brand name, both are SATA anyway so limited to 500ish speeds

      Probably worth looking into TBW

      • What's TBW

        • +2

          TBW = Total Bytes Written

It is a measure of the endurance of the drive. The higher the better.

Samsung has DRAM, makes a world of difference in large file writes.

      • There's still sustained read and write, and also IO read and write which can vary significantly between products for a given peak read/write.
They can cheap out on the controller and/or the DRAM cache.

    • i would say, it's a good find. :) and umart offer $79 is cheaper https://www.umart.com.au/product/silicon-power-a55-1tb-tlc-3…

      samsung evo 1tb is 600tbw / 5years wty
      SP ace a55 1tb is 500tbw / 3 years wty

depends how reliable do you need them :P

  • shows up as $149 for me…..

    • good deal is like this… and i hope it downs to $96, but….

  • Shows $149 for me too :(

  • Can’t have been too many of them at Amazon as I checked with 30 mins of OP and they were $149 - 12 hours later still $149.

There are AU store prices cheaper than Amazon’s lust price. Isn’t there supposed to be a minimum number listed somewhere? Did anyone actual get a 1TB EVO 2.5” SATA FOR $108 from Amazon? Or other size listed?

  • True, I would be curious to know how many sold for $108 and if anyone actually got one..

But as for other retailers, selling it cheaper. $145 seems to be average price. MSY selling it for $138

    • Exactly $145 has been the price for a while and I couldn’t even get a cheap one on BF. That’s why I was surprised to see it a $108.

Anyone who got one $108 from Amazon please post

    • Just received mine this morning
