Didn't get this on my Qantas Ultimate.

Watch out of the T&C. I think you need to download the ampol app and pay via the app. I didn't get my cash back last time as I just paid straight through the till.
Everyone trying to collect data and flood you with offers now.

    • @least it's better than the BP app and you can also get 6cpl offer on sign up

      T&C say,
Excludes payments made via Ampol app.

    • It says "in-person only at Ampol by 26/01/2023"

    • That was the previous offer

  • In the last Ampol app 50-5 deal, I forgot that there are auto 6c save in app.
Then set $50 on the machine, but finally paid around $48.

    • Fill up the min. 2L and pay with AmEx. The spend can be made up by more than one transaction.

      • I did not go to Ampol after that. (smile with crying)

  • How does this actually work? I thought I just had to activate it and then just when I buy something from there I'd get the money back? Do I have to do some sort of witchcraft?

    • Activate it and pay with your Amex card

It will credit you automatically within a couple weeks

  • If its like the last deal then you have to be careful where you use it - I tried 3 different stores and none were successful before I double checked the T&C. Last time it excluded any Woolworths affiliated outlets (which are all the Ampol branded servos in my area)

  • Awesome, this was on my Explorer and Platinum card.

dang - didnt get this one. i got the last one [which was app only] and as all the others to date without app auto clicked - dumb a$$ i am - used it and paid and wondered where the credit was?! grr was a higher amount also. OzB fail by me!

    • Me too!

  • There's an AMEX surcharge at the Ampol I went to last time so I didn't get the full $5 savings.

  • Just filled up after activating but it has been recorded as "caltex". Hopefully that won't be an issue.

    • How did you go? I filled up at an ampol branded, appears on the ampol store locator and is not marked as EG etc - but it came up on my statement as Caltex so I’m doubtful amex will cough up the cashback. Didn’t get any emails either.

      • I just checked and it worked for me - statement credit received in the last week or so. I also didn't get any emails.

      • Hey mate
How did you go with the credits ?

  • I had been Ampol station twice, the App never works.

  • Must be targeted as i got the offer last time but not thie time around :-(

  • Got the offer on Qantas ultimate

  • Offer received on credit card

  • Can I buy Woolworths giftcard and receive the cashback?

    • +2

Not valid at EG Ampol (formerly Woolworths Caltex) and any remaining 'Caltex Woolworths' branded locations, as they are owned by EG.

  • After the surcharge, this is a pretty poor cashback. Better to buy discounted wish cards and by from Woolworths EG instead. That's my local experience anyway.

  • Ampol just seems to be so expensive. Even with the discounts, eg 6 cents a litre etc, and a $5 cashback. Most of the Ampols in my area hovering around 2.20 a litre or more for diesel, whereas a Medco is sitting pretty at 188.9 and has been all week.

    • Use the FuelCheck app. Buy Ampol Cash card at the participating venues (not Woolworths) and then use those at other Ampol sites like Woolworths Ampol MetroGo

  • ref "Not valid at EG Ampol (formerly Woolworths Caltex) and any remaining 'Caltex Woolworths' branded locations, as they are owned by EG." where does it say that in the terms? anyone try and did it work ? last time i had offer i did the offer at a caltex and it worked. i managed to save the "Spend $60 or more, get
$5 back, up to 2 times Ampol" offer twice so it appears on my saved offers twice. will that meant ill get two lots of credits?

    • You would've likely got it at a still-branded (at the time) Caltex that would've been owned by Ampol - the store would've been branded "Caltex Star Mart" or a Caltex Star (Shop) logo at the front of the store.

An EG-owned location would've had 'EG' or 'Caltex Woolworths' branding at the front of the store.

    • My understanding is that Ampol Retail T/As Ampol Woolworths MetroGo is also not valid. The rebranding hasn't been reflected in T&Cs

      • Ampol Woolworths MetroGo is a separate agreement signed by the then-Caltex Australia (now Ampol Australia) to use the Woolworths Metro(Go) branding under license in place of the Foodary brand at stores in NSW and Victoria. Although the storefront (and interior) are Woolworths Metro branded, as well as selling Woolworths branded items in the shop, MetroGo is owned and operated by Ampol, NOT EG.

The Point of Sales (POS) systems at Ampol Woolworths MetroGo are the same Fujitsu systems as the ones used at the company owned Ampol Foodary and some independent franchisee (non-EG) sites, hence why they don't accept Woolworths Gift Cards nor sell them for that matter.

        • Hmm, in that case, I'll be chasing Amex for my rebates as they did not come through.

          • @roughana: Actually, they did eventually come through automatically.
